Feature and Follow is an excellent way to meet new bloggers, get new followers, or just to check out the weekly questions to see what others think (I have been absent for a few weeks from this, sorry about that. (See either host site to read more about this meme if your new to it)

Q: Activity! Hopefully warm weather for most of us is here soon…so tell us about your favorite outdoor reading spot. Or take a picture.

I don’t read outdoors actually, it’s raining here, or too much sun in the summer and burn within minutes, I am albino white, and no matter the sunblock, ( No I am not a vampire, but sure would seem like it, lol) I burn and get blisters badly. So, I avoid the sun. I also am not comfortable in the heat. I rather be in a comfy recliner in the AC. I actually like the colder weather myself. But I will say, when I was younger, before this skin problem (lost all pigmentation in my skin, it’s all over now, so I stay out of the sun, so all my skin is snow white, lol) I used to read at the lake near my house, you can see Mt. St. Helen’s at the other side, so this used to be a place I would hang out and read, back when I could get a tan, or go out on the lake in a boat. (I live in the mountains in Washington State, near this lake, Yale Lake on the Lewis River.) On the day of this photo, Mt. St. Helens was spewing some smoke, nothing came of it. There is also some clouds hanging around there, so it makes it look like more than it is, lol

The photo is taken from the grassy slope near the lake, I used to lay on it and read, and could move into the shade as I wanted too. Its from the Yale Lake, (also known as the Saddle Dam) Here is a link to my Devianart account below, that I have uploaded many photos I have taken of the area I live in, some in snow, waterfalls, the ocean too. Q: What is the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish it?

A Matter of Fate and I Kissed A Dog. There are many that do, but to be fair, just put the latest 2, 4 am for one, and 3:30 am for the other. Just could not stop reading them

Q: If you could choose one supernatural being/creature to really exist what would it be and why?

My answer would have to be the protector type of Nephilim (then have to assume if they were around, the bad stuff too, but either way, would be cool) or I would go with the descendants of the Greek gods, as they have some cool powers too, but then I would want to be one of them, lol. Vampires were my first thought, but then got to think which version were talking about, so depending on that, well, yeah, will stay with the original choices, though hot aliens like Daemon from the Lux series would not be so bad either, lol. But I also found the Fey interesting, so really any of those.

Feature and Friday Follow Hop 11/30

Welcome to the Feature & Follow Hop, Hosted By Parajunkee's and

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop, that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participation, and to expand their following. Each of our great host will feature a chosen blog each week, it’s an interesting way to get to know one another.

This weeks question:
Q: Activity! Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.

Whew, a hard one, as I have several I really love, so will narrow down to 3 of them, I guess, lol.  So, for one of my longest crushes, is Jace from the Mortal Instruments, and funny thing is, When I started to read the books,(late compared to most, read them back to back) I was also watching Camelot on tv, and Jamie Campbell Bower was one on the show, that i pictured Jace to look like, then my dream became true when he got cast as Jace in the City of Bones movie. He is a perfect Jace.  Goodreads  If you missed the new City of Bones movie trailer, its Here

Here is a pic of him in Camelot that I first got him as my ideal Jace.

For another book crush that I have had for awhile, is Bones from the Night Huntress series, he is super hot!!! Goodreads

Of course , I like so many others absolutly LOVE Daemon from Jennifer L Armentrout's Lux series, so should give him a mention
Goodreads

I had to add one more, I am almost done with a book I started this morning, Mystery Falls by Marilyn Phillips, and Shadow in this book is so hot, and sexy, and I just love him, and to me he would look like Ian Somerhalder from the Vampire Diaries, and usually any blue eyes black hair guy will get his face, lol, but Yah, had to update with him, as I fell in love today, lol.

Available to buy at Smashwords

Ok, will stop there, lol,

Feature and Friday Follow Hop 11/9

Welcome to the Feature & Follow Hop, Hosted By Parajunkee's and

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop, that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participation, and to expand their following. Each of our great host will feature a chosen blog each week, it’s an interesting way to get to know one another.

This weeks question:
Q: Do You mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts, backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fan fiction.
Answer: First, I hate fan-fiction for the most part. (i don't mind some really well written fan-fic, but so much is bad, I am picky, and really just avoid it) I won’t get into that, but mainly it’s to me, feels a rip-off to the original author, and there are times that people will think its from the author, like extra scenes, ect. I especially hate when a great story, is fan-fictional to a horrid porn type book and publish it, but just change the names, I am sure most know exactly which book I am referring too. And bad writing on top of it. (yes, talking about the horrid Fifty shades crap)

As for ideas being similar, I think for the most part, there is no way around that, there are only so many original ideas. Unless a person is to completely make up a whole world and creatures and language, I do not see how to not have some similarities. I don’t mind, in fact, I like the comfort of ideas and stories that I can imagine the world easier. If its too foreign, I would feel lost. Like, I love fallen angel books, angel, nephilimn, and vampire books, paranormal for the most part, and most I read always have their own spin of it. Sci-fi  is fun too, but if someone does an outerspace exploring type, and comes up with far-fetched aliens and all that, then it gets to be too original, lol. And Hard to follow, or bring an image to your mind. Overall, I do not mind same ideas recycled as long as they have their own spin on it, and it’s written well.

Feature and Friday Follow Hop 10/2

Welcome to the Feature & Follow Hop, Hosted By Parajunkee's and

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop, that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participation, and to expand their following. Each of our great host will feature a chosen blog each week, it’s an interesting way to get to know one another.

This weeks question:
Q: What Writing Device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs and omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

Well, I guess my biggest thing is repetitive phrases or words, I mean how many times do I need to hear "chewing lips", lol thats just one phrase that got to me, when trying to read a really horrid book, that was written so badly  but wont get into that, lol.

Over doing the Gushing-I get frustrated when its said over and over, how godlike a guy is, or whatever, I don't mind some, as I like to know the characters feelings, and all, but every other paragraph is a little much.

I don't like the insta love when its not a paranormal element that makes it happen, like in some books, they are not human, and its something more, that makes them find their soul mates etc , as I only really read Paranormal books, I do not come across it enough to get to me. If its a real world type book and it happens, yeah, I don't buy that.

I also do not like when you have outdated things going on, like a teen now in 2012, but says and does things that I would have done in the 80's, when I was a teen. That will give away the authors age, for sure, lol. Its aggravating, but not that huge of a deal.

Also, I do love getting other POV's, but do not like it, when I am not sure who's head I am in. If it switches, without a page-break, or new chapter or somethings, it frustrates me. I like how the Forbidden Mind, Forbidden Fire and Forbidden Life are written, each chapter, starts with the name of the person POV, and stays int hat person, until the next chapter. If its still the same person, it will have that persons name again. Love it. That's the best way to do it, and there is never any confusion. Kimberly Kindrade does a great job in the POV switching.

This weeks question: Q: What Book do you think would make a great Halloween Movie? Please explain in graphic detail of goriness…
Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls Book 1) By Jessica Sorensen comes to Mind, read this little tease to see why, we have zombie like vampires in a dystopian world, and its creepy, gory, and scary at times, an awesome book.
It’s as dark as death, but I can still make out the blood dripping from the monsters eyes and the gaping wounds mapping its flesh. Its fangs tremble for my neck, desperate to devour—needing to feed. I search the ground for my weapon—I need my weapon.
But it seizes me by the shoulders and digs its fleshless fingers into my arms. My skin starts to give. If it breaks, I’ll be infected.

What do you think? This is the new cover for Darkness Falls , and Darkness Breaks is book 2, its out now. Find them at Goodreads

Feature and Follow Friday 9/28

Welcome to the Feature & Follow Hop, Hosted By Parajunkee's and

Q What is the BIGGEST word you’ve seen used in a book lately-that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition and book too

It would have to be abhorred (meaning: FORMAL: regard with disgust and hatred) which fits that part of book.
From a great book, by a brilliant (and smart) author Rebekah Armusik  her 3rd book in the Gothic Memoirs called Lucifer Rising I really LOVED this book, and learned many new words and meanings in all 3 books (by the way, her 4th is out on Halloween, will be doing a giveaway for it) (by the way, her husband does oil paintings of all the covers) Thank goodness for the Kindle Fire, and being able to highlight and get definition of words. lol

Of course now that this question was burning in my brain, another word flagged me down while reading my current book, Ephemeral , which is not surprising, as Addison Moore does use many new words to me, never repetitive at all, and love that. She doesn't over use a new word, be lucky to see it more than once anyway. That word this time is
malfeasance : Definition: wrongdoing, esp. by public official. Origin late 17th Cent: from Anglo-Norman
French malfaisance, from Mal-'evil' + Old Frence faisance 'activity'.
Found some of the history of the word interesting.
I found the name of the book definition interesting as well
ephemeral : lasting for a very short time-temporary

By the way, excellent book :) Goodreads

This weeks question: What Hyped up Book  was worth all the hype?
Well, there are several for me, but a few that come to mind that are recent, 2 series I seen so much hype about, I finally had to read them, and that's the Covenant Series and Lux series by Jennifer L Armentrout, I think I never seen more hype, quotes teasers, everything on these above mentioned series. I mention the series as I can't just say the first book, as its got to be all taken in with all the books. ( I also loved the Mortal Instruments to that had so much hype, one of my all time favorites)

Click here for my Cover reveal of Opal, I updated as soon as it posted. Read a summary too! Link to an amazing Giveaway as well.

This weeks question: What Hyped up Book do think was not worth all the Talk?

Well, I have to say, I was not fond of the Stefan's Diaries (Vampire Diaries spinoff) that is NOT even by L.J. Smith, has a horrible Ghost writer, they changed the descriptions from the original books to match the actors on the show, just bad writing really, but many people talked about them, at least then, many have gotten mad too, when they found out its a ghost writer, and how L.J Smith was treated. Anyway, its the onely one I can think of, I read most in series up to the last one, and had stopped, only did that to help me understand the show, which I like.
I wish we could have more "Positive" questions, I see too many books I love being bashed already :(

This weeks question: What are you reading right now? How are you liking it?

I am reading Wicked Sense by Fabio Bueno. I LOVE it, I am at the 75% mark on my Kindle, and will finish tonight.

Its an interesting book, about witches, and this one is a little different than some I have read in the past, and am really enjoying it. I really am loving how each chapter is back and forth between the girl Skye's point of view, and Drake's point of view. Its very interesting, especially getting inside this young mans head. Its a YA paranormal, I have it for a book tour , will have a whole post and review for it then, with expert too.
