Synopsis:
Sometimes Rest in Peace isn’t an option.
Kacie Ramsey sees ghosts—and it’s ruining her life. Her mother left, her father blames her, and no matter how hard she tries, she can’t keep the ghosts away. Now a new power has emerged. Nightly visions of grisly murders and a relentless predator draw her to the brink of insanity.
When the phantom appears at a party, Kacie’s longtime crush, Logan, saves her. He invites her to join the Orion Circle, a group of supernatural hunters with chapters in schools all over the country. Through the Circle, Kacie learns to embrace her spiritual powers, and for the first time in her life she feels in control rather than a victim.
But the Foxblood Demon will not give up so easily. A demented serial killer in life who trapped the souls of the thirteen children he murdered, imprisoning them within the walls of his mansion. Now in death, he plots his return while drawing power from the pure souls of the children. He recognizes something in Kacie he’s never seen before—a medium powerful enough to provide a vessel for his tainted soul.
Kacie can’t ignore the tortured souls of the children crying out to her every night. With Logan at her side, she will fight the Foxblood Demon. But can they banish this powerful phantom, or will Kacie lose not only her body, but her eternal soul to the monster.

AUTHOR BIO
Kimber Leigh Wheaton is a YA/NA author with a soft spot for sweet romance and is a member of Romance Writers of America.

She is married to her soul mate, has a teenage son, and shares her home with three dogs and four cats. No, she doesn’t live on a farm, she just loves animals. Her house is filled with dragons, though she does lament that they are the porcelain, non-flying variety.

Kimber Leigh is addicted to romance, videogames, superheroes, villains, and chocolate—not necessarily in that order. (If she has to choose, she’ll take a chocolate covered superhero!)

Her debut novel, Shadow Fire, is the first book in the Light Chronicles series. Watch for book two, Stolen Moon, a standalone sequel, coming August 2014.

This was an interesting read that I did enjoy. Though it did have a very tame feel to it, unlike many paranormal books I read. Almost like it was meant to be tamed down for maybe younger readers maybe.

But I still did enjoy it, just was a weird feel. The main character I would say is very immature and weak, soft is a word that comes to mind. I did however liked Logan alot. There romantic parts were very mild, but nice.

The idea of this Scobby Do type Team is fun and interesting, even if not exactly original, the different abilities however is a great addition to a traditional ghost hunter group.
Overall this is an interesting  read,

I do recommend this book to paranormal lovers and do look forward to reading the next book.

I give 4 1/2 out of 5 stars

The cover: Well, I am not fond of the cover, again, I get that sweet tame feel from it.I didn't automatically think Paranormal when seeing this cover. If I hadn't found this book for a tour, I do not think while looking at book covers that it would even catch my eye. The cover is done great , just do not feel it fits the book.

I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review.

Review: Secrets of Ghosts by Mardi Orlando

Title: Secrets Of Ghost
Author: Mardi Orlando
Publisher: Trafford
Publication Date: June, 20 2012

To free these ghosts they will need to discover each of their identities, and to do that, this group of misfits will need to face the secrets that have haunted their own lives. It is the only way they will survive. And time is running out. A haunting fantasy, Secrets of Ghosts will intrigue those of us who like to seek amongst the shadows.

The Secrets of Ghosts

My review:

This book really was intriguing, it’s got it all, Mystery, Danger, Fantasy, romance, and darkness too. It’s like several different types too, like science fiction, fantasy fictions, and mystery, with some paranormal thrown in. Certainly can keep your interest.

When reading I really felt like I got to know the characters too, its was beautifully written, and you can tell that Mardi did extensive research for the historical facts. Very impressive.
The plot never really slows down, and the characters come to life for you it seems. You can visualize every word they speak, and what expressions they make. I am not usually one to read a book with this much history type stuff in it, as it usually will bore me. But I really wasn’t. We do get some going from the present back to World War 1 and 2 days, but it’s done well.
The tragic stories of the ghosted children touch your heart. She does an amazing job in weaving a haunting tale between the ghosted children, the local town, and the seven teens. It turns into a haunting tale that keeps you interested.
Here is a quote that is very touching:

I don’t know how much the others have figured out but I am very worried for us. I know our time is running out. I don’t think we are supposed to stay here but we can’t leave or the Shadow will get us. None of us like the Shadow. I can tell that we are fading. When I look at everyone they are starting to look different and Bruises is almost gone. I know that if we fade before we are found we will never be able to go home. If we fade, we disappear forever as if we never existed. That is very dangerous for everyone, ghosted or not.

I do not want to give too much away, trying to keep this spoiler free as I can.
It really is a interesting book, and I highly recommend it. The writing is flawless, it really is. Mardi is amazing how she brings these characters to life.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Haunted by Kelly Armstrong (Women Of the Otherworld 5) Review

Haunted (Women of the Otherworld, #5)Haunted by Kelley Armstrong
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THE CONTINUING ADVENTURES OF THE SMART, SEXY — SUPERNATURAL — WOMEN OF THE OTHERWORLD

Eve Levine — half-demon, black witch and devoted mother — has been dead for three years. She has a great house, an interesting love life and can’t be killed again — which comes in handy when you’ve made as many enemies as Eve. Yes, the afterlife isn’t too bad — all she needs to do is find a way to communicate with her daughter, Savannah, and she’ll be happy.

But fate — or more exactly, the Fates — have other plans. Eve owes them a favor, and they’ve just called it in. An evil spirit called the Nix has escaped from hell. She feeds on chaos and death, and is very good at persuading people to kill for her. The Fates want Eve to hunt her down before she does any more damage, but the Nix is a dangerous enemy — previous hunters have been driven insane in the process. As if that’s not problem enough, the only way to stop her is with an angel’s sword. And Eve is no angel. . .
.
(Summary from Book, and Amazon)

I have loved all of the 5 books in this series so far. This is probably one of my favorites, next to any with Elena and Clay.

Contrary to what some reviewers have said, I like the familiarity with the characters and I also like the growth and development of the characters. It feels like more loose ends get tied up to a point with

Eve and Kristof. I enjoyed it.
Thanks to consistent and believable "rules" in the world of her work, Kelly wrote a very believable, and enjoyable book. I do not believe what some people say, that you can skip this one. No way, there is way to much info, and fun, and plot twist to miss out.
Its a must read in my honest opinion.

In HAUNTED, Kelly Armstrong has given us all a gift, a truly touching story about a woman who recognizes life's precious moments for the miracle they are and learns to cherish them as she reaches emotional maturity just-- a little too late - in an afterlife that is anything but restful and boring.

So don't miss out
