On Sale for $.99 only from May 31 - June 1

Angelstone (Dark Angel #2)
Kindle Edition
Expected publication: May 31st 2013

After escaping from the Hollows and the Michaelea lightwarriors, Jordan takes Alyx and Israel to Aradale, a secret Rogue community, where they appear to be safe − for now. But did they bring the enemy with them? “Mini”, the strange and speechless young girl they rescued from the Hollows, is not as she seems. Why was Elder Michael keeping her locked up? What is she hiding?

Alyx and Israel are driven further apart as Israel continues to obsess over making Adere human and Alyx hides two secrets from him: that he may be part-demon and that she may be carrying his child, a tri-blood keye that can be used to unlock Hell.

Out in the mortal cities, pieces of Black Stone, the only material that can disrupt the angels’ healing abilities, continue to be stolen to make weapons for Samyara’s dark army. Alyx and her friends must stop them, but this means infiltrating holy and guarded places to steal the Black Stone − a monastery in remote China, a mosque in Saudi Arabia, an art gallery in Florence and a cathedral in Peru.

Can they win this deadly race against the Darkened?

 My Review:

I loved this second book of the Dark Angel series. I was lucky to read an ARC of this book too. I can't wait now to the next one! I am so hooked. I need to know what happens now!

This book starts right were the first one leaves us. Alyx is still worried that she may be carrying Isreal's child which would be a bad thing, and you know why if you read book one. Thats all I will say on that. Isreal also finds out some things about himself from someone who helped him discover it, wont say more on that either.

I was so up in the air for awhile on which guy Alyx should be with too, Jordan, or Isreal. I still lean toward Jordan, but the story keeps wanting us to like Isreal, lol. It just isn't happening for me I guess.  I think part is that Isreal just doesn't seem attractive at all to me, physically for sure, but not even personallity either. I  think Jordan sounds hot, and he is a great guy to me. But that is my personal opinion.

The story itself, besides the guys, is amazing. Kept me hooked right away. I didn't have that lost feeling I did when i first read the first book Angelfire. Only one part is still confusing to me, is, do these Seraphine have wings or not? They fly, and the covers show wings, but the way everything is described it seems they do not have wings, but do fly still. Yeah, that part of it is still a mystery to me. If I didn't see wings on the cover on the girl, I would not have assumed that they do have wings. As its not mentioned at all. Ohwell, small detail, not a big deal.

I was so sad at a few parts, but wont say why. So much death in this one (not too much, but any when its the good guys is too many to me)

I was on the edge of my seat for sure the last half of this book. I really love this story, and highly recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal reads. Not much romance in this, more action and thrills.

Oh, boy what a cliffhanger this one is though!! It will have you pulling your hair out for sure!!

Fans of The Mortal Instruments will love this I think. Give them both a try.

5 out of 5 stars for me. Highly recommended.

Excerpt
Chapter 1

Alyx had evaded him. For now.
She struggled to contain her breath, jagged from all the running, as she crouched behind a crumbling stone pillar. Here the grass struggled to grow between the uneven slate paving.
She was back in the DreamScape. Except this time, she was not surrounded by brick walls of the grey maze. No. This time the DreamScape was wide and bare except for the pillars that remain of these ruins. Bone-grey and broken.
Alyx felt naked. Exposed. She wished, almost, for the walls back.
She remembered the last time she was here - the trapped-ness, the panic, the claustrophobia of the brick maze - and a shudder ran through her. She remembered how Michael’s form had pushed its way through the skin of the Scape and his stony arms that held her. She remembered his promise to her.
“I will find you.”
Alyx stopped wishing for the walls to come back.
Stone scratched on stone, the sound grating against her spine. Alyx peered around the corner of her hiding place. A short distance away, whole pillars were being tossed across the ground as if they were but empty hollow things. Something was moving. Something powerful.
He was coming for her.
Fight, something in her whispered, soft like the voice of bloodink. Instead Alyx placed her hands on the slate. Escape was a better option.
She ran through Jordan’s instructions in her mind again. “Remember that the DreamScape is pliable. Imagine it like water around you. Push through it with your mind and it will move out of your way. Imagine there is a way out and there will be. But you must believe it.”
Alyx pressed down on the slate with her hands. It was unyielding. But she could do it. This time surely. A doorway, a way out, a way out. She had to make her way out. She couldn’t keep running.
All the while the noise of the sliding pillars grew louder and closer.
The slate remained unchanged. “Come on,” Alyx cried out in frustration.
Stop. Breathe, she told herself. She closed her eyes and forced the noises around her to fade.Breathe. Believe.
Believe.
Under her palms, Alyx felt the slate shifting. The smooth coolness turned to the grain of untreated wood. Her eyes flew open. Under her hands was a door, wooden and simple. The sides were uneven but who cared. She had created a door.
Her fingers moved over it. Wait. Where was the handle? The lock? Alyx’s fingers scratched at the edges of the door. It sat too flush against its frame for her to get her fingertips in there.
The noise of moving pillars was getting closer. Alyx felt the panic start to close its fingers around her throat. She stood and kicked down at the door. It’s only wood. It should break. Break, damn you, break.
“Come on, Alyx,” his voice carried through the panic-buzz in her brain, taunting her.
The pillar behind her flew out of the way. Alyx spun. Her heart felt like it wanted to leap from her throat. She was exposed.
He faced her, still some meters away but he didn’t need to get any closer. He tilted his head at her. “Maybe some incentive?” He stretched his right hand out and a broken pillar to his right lifted from the ground. Alyx stomped frantically at the door at her feet. He pointed his hand at her and the pillar flew towards her.
Fight, fight. The voice was unbearable now. Fight. Something in her snapped. Enough.
From within her bubbled forth a fury, a rage that tore away the fist-like panic at her throat. It ripped at the magic of the ‘Scape around her. Alyx could feel it gathering in her arms like yards of fabric. She heard a gasp. Did it come from her? Or him?
Like a giant soundless scream she projected all this energy from her. The pillar that was about to crush her blew back against the force. It flew back through the air and crashed into the ground, a cloud of grey dust billowing and spitting chips of stone around its resting place.
Her mind seemed to clear with the dust. Only then did Alyx realize what she had done.
Jordan.
Alyx ran to where Jordan had been standing. The pillar lay cracked in places. But he was gone.

Angelfire (Dark Angel #1)Review

Wow, this was an amazing book. I really got into it, and could see the world through Alyx’s eyes. I will admit a few parts did have me confused, as in I was not sure on the whole wings part, like if they only show when she is in her own realm, and not when on the Earth plane? As it has her still flying, but never mentions the wings. I assume she has them, as the cover shows them. But other than that, I had no problems with this story at all.

I am anxious for the next book, AngelStone (Dark Angel #2)

I was able to connect really well with the main character Alyx, she is strong minded, and fierce, which I love to see in a female character.
I was not sure of Isreal at first, but he grew on me, but will say, I really like Jordan, he seems to care what happens to Alyx, and think there will be more to that in the future books.

Here is a cute part where Alyx first meet the mortal she is connected too, I thought it was funny:

“You’re being here is no coincidence, is it?” His eyes narrow. “What are you?”“What a silly question,” Alyx says, trying not to let her panic show. “I’m a mortal just like you.”He grins. Alyx feels like an animal that has just been caught in a trap.“Firstly,” he says, “a real mortal would never call herself a ‘mortal’. And secondly, real mortals don’t come falling out of the sky to land delicately on the ground. No, real mortals break bones doing things like that,” he says this last sentence in a mock hush as if he was revealing some great secret. “Just keep that in mind when you try to pass yourself off as one of us next time.”Alyx’s breath sticks in her throat, a strangled sort of cry.But it only seems to amuse him further. “Yes, I saw you drop down to the ground before you knifed that thing. Scaring the living hell out of me I might add.” He glances up at the buildings that loom over them. “What is that, five storys that you just jumped from? Neat little trick. No you obviously aren’t human and you don’t look like one of them. So the question is... what are you?”“It’s dark. You shouldn’t have seen that.”“My night vision is fantastic.” He shrugs as if in apology. “Okay. Maybe ‘what are you?’ is too personal a question to ask so soon after we just started our friendship?”

Here is a little of a steamy part for you, much later on in the book:

Alyx traces her fingers across his top lip and presses her mouth to it, soft like the first drops of spring rain, her thumb trapped between the corners of their mouths. A rush fills her head. He gasps. Or does she? She isn’t sure. She pulls back to look at him. The way he is looking at her is... like he is seeing the stars for the first time.“Alyx...”She kisses him again, cutting him off. The world around them dissolves like sandcastles until there are just his lips and his hands.
Also this part with some steam:

Alyx traces his collarbones with her fingers.“I am sure. I want you. And. I want you to have me. All of me.”Israel nods. He kisses her again before pulling away. He slips his fingers under her shirt finding her skin. She lifts up her arms. He draws her shirt up off her, his hands dragging along her sides.Alyx can’t meet his gaze. It is too much. She lowers her eyes as Israel drops her shirt. She can feel him staring at her. She moves to cross her arms over herself but he catches her hands.“You have no reason to hide,” he says. He leans down to kiss her bare shoulder then runs his lips along her neck up to her ear. “You are so... painfully beautiful.”

Yeah, this book is great. It has it all, you have some great steamy parts, great exciting story with many twist you won’t see coming. I was shocked at one of them. I sure can’t wait for the next book.

I highly recommend this book, it’s a great Paranormal romance, its YA, but with clean steamy parts that will satisfy those that love some swoon parts. It has the suspense and action too. Written very well too.

5 out of 5 stars for sure. A Must read!

Toxic Part Two (Celestra, # 7.5)
Teaser #1 Not one to waste a good vat of boiling vomit I turn my head and do my best impression of a girl possessed, projecting my insides all over Chloe Bishop’s hair and chest.
She jumps out of her chair, on fire with screams, and runs retching from the room.

Teaser #2 He touches his thumb to my cheek and his wonderful vibrations tune through me like the strumming of a harp. “I love you, Skyla. In time you will feel the same.”
I catch my breath and hold it, not sure how to respond. A part of me knows this is real. A part of me already has a very special place in my heart for Marshall. And although I’m terribly afraid to admit it, the thought of making love to him has been playing out in the recesses of my darkest fantasies for some time now.
“Really?” His brows arch in amusement.
Shit.

Angelfire (Dark Angel 1)

Chapter 1

The devil walks into a bar.

Purgatory is a bar reminiscent of old lower Manhattan, long and skinny like an alleyway, exposed brick, faded booths and low hanging lights amidst the soft racket of a dirty jazz. Purgatory is located in that slip of space and time between earth, heaven and hell. Nowhere and everywhere.
From earth you can get to it from number 13 of any street if you know how to look. Mortals have long forgotten the reason that thirteen is unlucky yet street numbers all over the world still read 9, 11, 15.
Inside, Balthazar is leaning against one of the gritty walls, partly hidden by the soft haze of smoke that seems to just hang at eye level, partly hidden by the glamour-magic that he has wrapped himself in. Anyone looking at him would see the pale green skin and scarlet eyes of a lesser demon.
As Samyara steps in through the door from earth, Balthazar’s body remains slouched and uninterested but his eyes become alert. He watches as Samyara weaves his way to the far end of the bar and slips onto a stool next to a lone seraph wearing a crimson cloak, playing with the rim of a glass of untouched golden liquid. Balthazar’s skin prickles. Usually Samyara won’t go near the Seraphim.
To anyone else watching it may not have appeared unusual, an angel and a demon sitting side by side, at least not in Purgatory. But Balthazar had come here with suspicions.

Teaser:
Alyx sits very still as he inserts the needle into her arm and the tube fills up with her blood. When he pulls the needle away the tiny hole closes up immediately. He turns to his bench and unscrews the needle from the tube.
Alyx begins to stand.
“I ain’t done with you yet.”
She sits back down.
“What are you going to do with it?” she asks.
Mayrekk doesn’t reply. Alyx can hear him clinking around. He keeps the tube in one hand. With his other he picks up an empty glass vial from another basket. A bloodink vial. It looks delicate like an eggshell against his bearish palm.
Alyx feels the room heat and ripples of power run across her skin causing her hairs to rise on end. Powerful magic. Mayrekk is using his magic. He is distilling her blood right here.
