The Prelude by KaSonndra Leigh- Release Day Blitz - New Adult Contemporary Romance

The Prelude - Release Blitz
By KaSonndra Leigh
New Adult / Contemporary Romance
Date to be Published: 7/3/2013

"The Prelude is the part of a song that pulls you in, hypnotizing you with beauty."

After finishing design school six months ago, Erin Angelo left her tragic past behind in the States and started a new life in Milan, Italy. Burying the grief, silencing her demons, and living a life without any real attachments has worked well for her so far. But when Erin secures her first real job as a budding clothing designer, her controlled world is shaken to its core by the mysteriously sexy director of the local symphony.

Alek Dostov is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. He's successful, hot, the son of a millionaire, and women all over the world flock to see one of his performances. For Alek, Erin represents the ultimate challenge: sexy, smart, and unaffected by his charms...or so she thinks. Just like Erin, Alek avoids attachments that leave him emotionally vulnerable. But unlike Erin, his pursuit of all things pleasurable is ruthless.

Knowing how wary they both are concerning any kind of committed relationship, Alek finds a way to pursue Erin, satisfying the intense attraction between them without sacrificing the freedom they both enjoy. Sometimes the deepest passion brings out the darkest emotions. And Erin finds herself completely unprepared for the forbidden world of the young maestro and his truths and even his secrets, as she struggles to deal with her own.

Music, passion, betrayal and forbidden love spun together in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

**This novel contains intense sexual situations and mature language. It is intended for an audience at 18+ years of age.**

EXCERPT

Alek is used to getting his way with women.  I probably let him go a little further than I should've done the night of the showing; but hell, I am human and my body has needs. Okay, so we know he has confidence down, and he's damn good with his hands.
But what about the rest of his package?
Can he move that sexy body of his the way I suspect he can?
Well, I guess we'll find out. Choosing one of Milan’s largest nightclubs turns out to be a great idea according to Alek. I’m surprised, but then, not really. There’s this surreal battle going on between us. You know the kind, the type where either one or the both of us will give in to whatever this thing is that we’re feeling for each other. And not even the heated atmosphere of the wildest and most controversial club in Milan can do a thing to hinder the outcome.
“You’ll beg me to kiss you before it’s all said and done,” he told me a few nights ago.
“We’ll see who begs who first, won’t we, Mr. Sexy as Hell?” I lead him to the center of the dance floor. The beat is a thumping disco tune that drives through every part of my body. It is so not helping me to gain the lead in this battle. I turn around, lift my arms and make the first move. “Show me what you got, Mr. Maestro.”
“We’re on, Erin Angelo.”
So arrogant. So sexy. Dangerous is the word I think I’m looking for and hooked is the one I’ll do anything to avoid. Alek moves close to me, his body grinding against my hips. He’s in no way shy about letting me feel how hard he has become. I’m instantly taken aback to that place from a week or so ago, the one where he gave me an orgasm that turned me into a puddle of ooze. Moving back, he takes my hand, laces his fingers with mine and begins moving to the beat.
Holy hell. I’m so in trouble. A guy who can dance like this… Let me repeat it for you, you’re so in trouble, Angelo.
Part of me feels all bubbly inside while the other half is terrified because now Alek’s arms have circled my body. We’re grinding and jerking to a beat that I swear was created just for sex. The words “bang, bang, shot you dead” blast through the speakers. It’s a tune called “Gang Bang” where the singer essentially says she killed her lover because she’s afraid of falling for him, but she used sex instead of a gun to do it. The meaning behind the lyrics hits too close to home to even think about.
The club spins. This man intoxicates me. Everything about him oozes sex. He’s passing the damn can-he-move test and shooting me dead with desire at the same time.

Author Bio

Author of the Lost Immortals Saga and the Path Seekers Series. I’m also a mother, blogger, reader, gardener, home renovator, and a slayer of undead Egyptian mummies in Tomb Raider. I believe in karma, coffee, and seriously wish that the producers of Xena would bring my favorite show ever back.

I was born in the race-car city of Charlotte, NC, and now live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, NC, when I’m not hanging out in Bardonia (Lost Immortals). Most of my characters are based on people that I’ve met throughout my travels and adventures. People tend to stop and start conversations with me as if I’ve known them my entire life. Does this freak me out? Not really. My mom says that one day I’ll get kidnapped by one of them. I told her that if it weren’t for these lovely people then I wouldn’t be able to create the stories that I do.

Some other common tidbits…hmm. I’ve watched the movie Under the Tuscan Sun almost 200 times. Seriously, the way I see it is if I keep watching it enough, then suddenly the house that Diane Lane lives in will magically appear in my backyard. I know. I have a huge imagination!

Faris
The shackles tightened on my wrists and ankles, digging deep in my flesh. Dark magic eased its way through to my skin. I sucked my breath and held it, waiting for the fiery feeling to pass. Curse it. I could hardly move, let alone think. A small band of light eased in through the windows above me, giving the metal chamber a touch of softness.
"I ask you again, Faris Toulan. Is this girl worth your life? Your immortality? Or what's left of it anyway," Olivia hissed into my ear, a sneer on her face. I stayed silent, refusing to give in. She grasped my chin and forced me to look at her face.
I glanced deep in her empty eyes, and said: "Yes. Chela is everything to me. She’s all that you could never be. Your tricks can't remove what I feel for her."
Dark eyes glared at me. Her harsh laugh ripped through my soul. The kindness she showed me earlier disappeared at once. I didn't care. All I hoped for, all I ached for was a chance to see Chela again. I promised to return as the protector she needed me to be. I refused to go back as the thing she was cursed to destroy.  That would only hurt her more than I had already done. I intended to keep my word.
"I do hope you understand what you've agreed to do," Olivia said in a low, but deadly voice, her breath on my ear, her cold fingers stroking my face.  "By the time I’m done with you, there won't be any other name you'll call except mine. Because that's how long you'll beg for mercy."
She moved closer to my face and kissed my lips. I wanted to gag. Inside, I was already screaming. But her torture, or whatever she planned for me, was nothing compared to facing a life without Chela. By thinking of her face, her laugh, even the way she sometimes annoyed me, I could handle anything Olivia did.
Hell most definitely existed. I was about to experience it in full force.
And then I heard Chela call my name…
Chela
In my dream, I felt his suffering as if it were my own. Every burn, each tingle, the agonizing way he screamed from inside that awful dark chamber. Lying in my bed, I thought of the kiss we shared the last time I saw him. My eyes flew open as I grasped at the air around me, reaching for him, but finding emptiness instead. And then the tears fell, and kept falling.
My mind was shutting down one cell at a time. Even breathing took effort. It was as if my lungs were a balloon, and his breath was magical helium; something that only the luckiest girl could find…and lose.
"Faris." I called his name out loud, hoping with all my faith that he heard me. Was it possible for us to connect even with so much distance between us?  I had to try. If he can hear me, then our link will pull him through whatever they were doing to him.
I can't just sit around and wait to hear news about his death. I had to do something.
"Chela. Can I come in?" My best friend, Alexa, stood in the doorway to my room. I didn't even hear her open it. She walked over to the edge of the bed and sat down. Her kind eyes filled me with warmth after so many cold nightmares had left me shivering.
"Baby, you've been in this room almost a week. Jalen and I miss you. Come back to us." She stroked my hair and laced her fingers with mine. Those small gestures were just enough to make me sit up and bury my face in her shoulders. "You got snot on my school uniform. Well, at least that's a start." I pulled back, glancing at Alexa's face as she studied her shirt. Looking up at me, she wrinkled her nose.
"Eew, gross," we both said at the same time. And then we both burst out laughing, covering our mouths as we giggled. She was right. Smiling was a good start. And then I heard a boy's voice speak in my mind.
"Chela, I heard you. By the lights, I heard you," Faris said.

My When Silver Moons Rise  Review

I loved this book even more than book one, which I also loved. It’s a great series.

really connected with the characters in book one, and even more so in this one. I think Chela is a really strong person, and love the connection she has with Faris. I am still not sure what to think of Seth, he makes you start to think he isn’t all bad, and then he does something to change your mind. It’s a back and forth thing for sure.

I felt so bad for Faris on some things that happen in this book, but won’t be telling you what, as I don’t want to spoil anything. I really enjoyed taking the journey with Chela into the Dim cities to try and find Faris.  I really liked the memories of the past Faris did, it sure helped me learn so much more about him and Seth,a s well as their sister. It helped me see why Seth is like he is, as well as Faris.

I was a little shocked at the ending, which I won’t tell you about, but now it has me eager for the next book.

I will need to stop here, as I will start saying too much I am afraid, but I do hope you give this series a chance. If you like books about angels or paranormal books in general, I believe you would like this. It’s not just that, it’s also a dystopian type setting too, which really makes this all very interesting too.

I give this book huge 5 stars out of 5. I highly recommend it. I also love the cover, very cool looking.

I was provided a copy of this book by the author for my honest review.

If you like my review, maybe you can mark it as helpful at Amazon, can use all the support I can get. Link is Here. Thanks

Caleb Wood Interview

What’s your favorite color?
Navy Blue.

What type of vehicle do you drive?
A midnight blue Challenger, of course. **gives me the sexiest dimple grin I think I’ve ever seen**

Describe yourself to me.
**blushes before he speaks** I don’t know. A serious kinda smart a**, I guess. Maybe too sarcastic about some things. People tell me that I wear my heart on my sleeve. That’s a pretty old term. On the physical side, I’m 6’1. I weigh around 180lbs. I have bluish-gray eyes and dark hair.

How would your mate describe you?
Um, I don’t know. Maybe she can tell you later on when you talk to her.

What really moves you, or touches you to the soul?
That’s pretty deep, don’t you think? I’d have to say Edgar Allan Poe poems. And yeah, guys can be into that kind of stuff.

What's the one thing you have always wanted to do but couldn't? What would happen if you did do it?
Well, um, I wanted to try wave boarding. I don’t know. I guess some part of me just doesn’t work in that way. I guess I just don’t do boards well at all.

Describe your ideal mate.
**gets this sexy kind of faraway look on his face after I ask this question** Right. So, she’s smart, tough, she can handle my smart mouth. Sometimes I’m not always the easiest dude to get along with. Sexy. You know. I guess I want the works.

What are you most afraid of?
Losing that person I just described in the last question.

What's the most important thing in your life?
My family.

What do you consider your special talent?
Lacrosse. I know it’s considered a cheesy sport by some people, but I’m good at it. I have another talent too, but that’s not something I can talk about here today.

How did you meet the hero/heroine?
She’s all heroine. In fact, she saves my a** more times than I do hers. Hey! At least I’m man enough to admit it, though. I’ll just say I met her in a classroom and leave it at that.

Was it love at first sight or did it develop slowly?
I didn’t know how to answer that question then. And guess what? I still can’t answer it now.

What did you like/dislike about him/her when you first met?
Well, she kinda disappeared behind this thing she calls the Veil. Man, it freaks me out when she does it. Sometimes she’ll just show up out of the blue too. But now, things are different. Something happened, and she can’t use it that way anymore.

If you were granted three wishes, what would you ask for?
Peace, love, and happiness, my man. What else am I supposed to say? **suddenly I understand why he warned me about him being a sarcastic you-know-what**

Thanks so much for stopping by today Caleb. You seem like a really fun person.

Caleb: And thanks to you for having me on your blog today. I’ll come back and chat anytime you like.

My Dark Seraphine Review

I am very impressed with Kasonndra Leigh’s writing. This book has a terrific plot twist, with very real feeling and lovable characters, and the feeling of needing to know now! This creates a real page turner.

I first fell in love with her writing in her other book; The Lost Immortals: When Copper Suns Fall, and Now this one. Also, there is another book after Dark Seraphine called Lost Seraphine (Seraphine Trilogy #2, due out Feb 14th) I can’t wait for book 2!. If you want to read books that are interesting and fun, entertaining and really flow well, then you will want to pick up her books.
I just went into this book really knowing nothing. I spent about ¾ of the book trying to figure out what Gia was, and the others that Caleb called the Walkers (people only he can see, but not ghosts) It sure was a surprise when I did find out! But I am not telling you!!

I enjoyed this story a lot, about as much as I did Kasonndra’s other book I mentioned. Very different in the paranormal way, than any other books I have read. (and I love Paranormal books, really it’s all I will read)

This is told from a male’s Point of View, Caleb. It took a little time for me to connect with Caleb, guess this is due to he is a 17 year old boy, and boys think a lot different than girls, and are way more immature too, kept me thinking him even younger than he is due to that, just had to adjust in my own mind. I still really liked him, and finally was able to connect. It’s all because of my own thinking, not the authors writing, as that was top notch.

I do not want to say too much about this, as I went into this with no knowledge and it was one of the best parts. The not knowing, the reading faster and faster as I just HAD to know what Gia was, as well as the others. What was happening to Caleb too.  I just wanted to know. The suspense was killing me. So I will NOT be telling you what supernatural beings we are dealing with, so to keep the surprise for you as well.
I really loved Gia, she is a great girl, and very mysterious and I really felt for her. I felt of all the girls, I connected with Erica the most. She is more than she seems under her pretty exterior, and I liked that about her.

Kyle, Caleb’s best friend is a typical teenage boy, nothing special there. I also loved that Caleb’s mom was in the story some. I really hate how so many YA pretend the parents just don’t exist, it’s not believable, and this story was in that area.
I loved how Gia was able to just pop in on Caleb at anytime. Here below is a funny part with Caleb and Gia (he didn’t know her name yet here)

I undressed down to my boxers, strutted over to the showers, and reached into the first stall. Turning around, I almost swallowed my tongue. “Wow, Caleb. I gotta hand it to you. Charm is definitely a strong point for you,” the Walker said to me as I stood there in my underwear. Mortified didn’t come close to how I felt right then. I snatched my towel off the shower bar and wrapped it around my waist. “You have got to stop doing that,” I blurted. “Doing what?” she asked innocently. “Stalking me, and—and showing up like a weirdo ghost,” I said. My whole body blushed. I could feel it just like I felt the heat coming off the water in the shower. “Guys spy on girls all the time. So are you saying you don’t like it when things are the other way around?”“Oh yeah? Newsflash time. You’re not a normal girl,” I said in a low voice. I hated admitting it, but she had a point. I wanted to be the one in control. Getting stalked by a female, a gorgeous one let me add, boosted my ego by a ton, and made me feel vulnerable at the same time.

Go check out this book. It’s a great price, and certainly worth reading. Kasonndra is now one of my top 10 favorite authors.

5 out of 5 stars for me.
