Book Boyfriend of the Week: Echo from Grimnirs (Runes #2.5) by Ednah Walters ~ Teasers

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about their book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

Want to participate?

Then all you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.

2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.

3) Pick a quote from his book, long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is.

4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises).

5) Share it! And shout it out using the #Reading and Things.

My Book Boyfriend this week is

I chose Echo from Grimnirs (Runes #2.5) by Ednah Walters. He is a sexy, cocky, arrogant but sweet at times hunk of a guy. He is a Grimnir, who is immortal, If you have not checked out this series yet, you need too. Its amazing! Hope you enjoy the teasers I chose for this. Sorry for the lack of Book Boyfriend post lately, life has gotten in the way for some post, but should be back on track now to participate as much as I can.

Teaser #1 (cocky, arrogant, still sexy)

“Will you be serious for even a second?” I asked.
“Don’t you want to be mine forever?”
“Ew, no.” I made a face. “I don’t even like you.”
“What’s liking me got to do with anything? As long as you want me, I’m good.”
“I don’t want you.”
He gave me a slow wicked smile. “Want me to prove it?”
Silence followed, and I could feel heat crawling up my face. He reached out to touch my face, but I dodged his hand.
“Okay, I’m kidding about the blood,” he said. “But you can bite me any time.” He proudly showed me the bite mark I’d left on his hand. The runes on his hand glowed bright and the wound sealed, the blood disappearing too. “It’s nothing my runes can’t heal. To bond with me, sweet-cheeks, I’d have to rune you.”
“Rune me?”
“Etch these,” he pointed at his tattoos,

Teaser #2 (stubborn, tries to be honorable, kindof)

He tucked strands of my wet hair behind my ear and moved his hand as though to cup my face. He stopped, fisted his hand, and let it drop by his side. “St. James was right about me. I use people and discard them when I’m done. I play dirty and don’t care who gets hurt in the process as long as I win.”
“But—”
He placed a finger on my lips. “Let me finish. I’ve been doing it for centuries, and I don’t think I can change. I’m no good for anyone, least of all you, doll-face.”
“Don’t say that!” I whispered.
He closed his eyes, and when he continued, his voice was heartbreakingly sad. “I will bring you nothing but misery and heartache, Cora. Believe me. I know what I’m talking about.” He opened his eyes and ran his thumb across my lips. His head dipped as though he was going to kiss me, but he stepped back, arm dropping to his side. “I shouldn’t even be touching you. Come on. I’ll escort you home.” He reached for car door and indicated I enter.
I pushed the door shut. “What do you mean by you know what you’re talking about?”
“It can’t work between us.”
“Why not?”
“You know why.”

Teaser #3 (Steamy, sexy, and just hot!)

“Tell me about your fantasies, Cora.”
Heat crawled up my face. I shook my head.
He leaned down, shifted his weight on one elbow, and kissed the skin above my tank top. He left a heated trail as his lips moved to my shoulder, one hand slipping under my tank top and caressing me intimately. I shivered. I didn’t know what to do with my hands, so I stroked his hair and shoulders. His muscles spasmed as though my touch sent a shock through him.
“If you tell me yours, I’ll tell you mine,” he whispered against my neck, and I shuddered at the sensation. “Please, Cora. Tell me about your darkest, juiciest fantasies.”
I tried to focus on the conversation, but my mind was slow to respond. “I want to undress you. Slowly.”
I couldn’t believe I’d actually said it. He went still, and I was sure he was going to laugh.
“Okay, doll-face. Undress me.” He jumped off the bed and waited, hands on his hips, stance cocky, and an intense sensual gleam in his eyes.
Heart pounding, anticipation making me dizzy, I slid off the bed and went to stand in front of him on wobbly legs. Biting my lower lip in concentration, I undid the next button on his vest.
“Look at me,” he ordered.
Our eyes met, and my hand went still. Heat leaped in his wolfish eyes. He brushed my lower lip, forcing me to relinquish it. Muttering a curse, he cupped the back of my head and captured my lips, his tongue slipping inside my mouth to find mine.
Stunned, I forgot about undressing him. The kiss was fierce. Hot. Mind-numbing. I grabbed his arms and hung on.
He lifted his head to growl, “You have thirty seconds, sweetheart. Then I’m taking over.”

Grimnirs (Runes #2.5)

by Ednah Walters
Published December 2nd 2013 by Firetrail Publishing
ISBN 0983429790
(ISBN13: 9780983429791)

Straight out of the psych ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The guy she’s loved from a distance for years moves away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing.The connection defies logic. Even better, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Too bad Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. He is also a soul reaper. A Grimnir.
The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life.

Check out the rest in the series too:

#Book Boyfriend #20 ~ Aiden from Sentinel (Covenant #5) ~ Teasers ~

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about their book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

My Book Boyfriend this week is Aiden from Sentinel (Covenant #5). Aiden has been swoon worthy in many of the series book, but there is some great ones in this one I wanted to share with you all. Not just swoon kinds, but teasers to show what a great guy Aiden is. If you had not read this series yet, what are you waiting for? If it was so you can read the whole series back to back, then start now, as I hear this one is the last book, but not 100% sure on that.

This is who I can see play Aiden if this was a movie, and who I pictured in my head. Liam Hemsworth, Photo Source

Teaser #1 (Best guy EVER)

(Aiden) “You never should’ve faced something like that alone.”
(Alex) “But you would’ve died.”
(Aiden) “And because I love you, I am willing to die to save you from that. Don’t you dare take that decision away from me again.”

Teaser #2 (steamy scene just to share his sexiness)

“I love seeing you smile,” he said, cupping my cheek. “And I miss it when it’s gone.”
A knot formed in my throat as my fingers traced the hard lines and rises of his chiseled stomach.
“I missed this.”
He smiled as he lowered himself, putting most of his weight on the elbow next to my head. When he kissed me again, it was much slower but no less intense or soulful than the ones before. He kissed me until my body burned under his, and then he moved south, slipping the straps of my bra down my shoulder and then getting rid of it completely. Those lips sought out every scar, and there are many, and I never felt more beautiful than I did in that moment.
Or when he flicked open the button on my pants, and then hooked his fingers under the band, slipping them plus another very important article of clothing down my legs. The air was cool, but not for long. Aiden returned to me, and I got the top button of his pants undone before he starting moving down.
It wasn’t like the first time, when Aiden had stopped to ask permission. He didn’t hesitate. He dropped a sweet kiss against the inside of my thigh, and then there was lightning in my body. Even tapping into akasha couldn’t compare to the feeling. I broke apart into a million, dazzling pieces.

Sentinel (Covenant #5)

It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.

Book Boyfriend of the Week #15 ~ Hunter from Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about their book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

My Book Boyfriend this week is Hunter from Jennifer L. Armentrout's Obsession, its a spin off of her Luxen series. He is a sexy alien, like Deamon in Lux series, but he is Armun not luxen, which is Luxen's enemy. I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did, as I love the Luxen in the YA series. This one is a Adult (or manbe New Adult, not sure) Here is some teasers for you.

Teaser #1 (Jerk and Funny)

“Are you done acting like a psychotic, cracked-out Muppet baby?" he asked, and I could tell by the way his fingers spasmed around my wrists, he really wanted to shake me.
"Or do you need a couple more moments to return to sanity? I have all day. And you actually feel kind of good under me, so take your time.”

Teaser #2 (Sweet/Romantic)

It wasn’t about the age-old battle of Arum versus Luxen. I wasn’t fighting to feed or to work off aggression. I wasn’t fighting because I was told or was obligated.
I was fighting for Serena.
She meant everything to me.
Knowing that, fully understanding what that meant, I was on a motherfucking warpath.

Teaser #3 (Steamy)

Dipping my head, I captured her lips. Her sharp intake of breath reverberated through my skull. I deepened the kiss, slipping my tongue past those sweet lips, and damn. Serena tasted like chocolate and that freshness I’d come to recognize as sunlight.

Obsession
by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This is a stand alone novel that is an adult spin-off of the Lux Series You do not need to read a Lux book to read Obsession and vice versa.

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?

Note: Sorry to be late posting, been pretty busy, and power outages here got me behind on lots of things.

My Book Boyfriend this week is Wren, who can resist a hot archangel? He is so sweet, and romantic, and just everything good, but he is also stubborn as well. I hope you like my teasers.

Teaser #1

“Like I said, if I kiss you, I won’t be able to do it just once—”
She lifted herself to her toes and pressed her lips to his. He didn’t turn away from her this time, though a moment passed before he leaned into her.
The chemistry, the conversation, none of it prepared her for the intensity Wren gave her as he stroked her lips with his and deepened the kiss. The fresh-air scent of him surrounded her as he reached his wings forward, enclosing her in a curtain of feathers. He ran his hands slowly down her back and she leaned deeper into the embrace. But all too soon, he lifted his hands to her face and held her still as he leaned away.
“Oh, Gin…if only…” He shut his eyes, folded his wings, and turned away.

Teaser #2

Her diamond blue eyes held his gaze, and she squeezed his hands, a silent support that meant more than any words. He leaned in and murmured, “Staring into your eyes is akin to flying on a cloudless day. I could get lost in their blue depths.”
“Nothing wrong with that.” She tilted her head back and kissed him.
Minutes later, after he’d managed to keep his hands off her long enough to get fully dressed, he picked her up and took to the sky.

About this book is below. I really loved it, and book 2 is great so far as well, a different world, where archangels live on Earth and are hunted by humans for their feathers. And where Demons are their guardians, certainly different, and not like anything I have read before. Got to love Wren.

Out in Blue (Return to Sanctuary #1)
by Sarah Gilman

In a violent world where fallen archangels are hunted for their valuable plumage, Wren knows one thing for certain: the human woman who saved him from a poacher attack will die if she stays with him. The demon responsible for his parents’ gruesome deaths two decades ago pines for the chance to rip apart any woman who stands under Wren’s wing.

Wren doesn’t expect Ginger to stay by his side once she discovers his ability to drain life with a mere touch, yet she lingers. When an unusual talent of her own reveals the location of Wren’s father, Wren’s isolated world implodes. With the help of the demon protectors he’s sworn never to trust again, Wren risks everything to rescue his father, confront the demon who stalks his and Ginger’s every step, and claim his eternity with the most courageous woman he’s ever known.

My Book Boyfriend this week is Eli, a Seraph angel, that is Emma's trainer/friend but more, lol, he is forbidden to get involved with a human, even an Nephilim warrior like Emma Hellsbane, but you know how those forbidden loves go, lol. Anyway, this is from book 2, as there is nothing worth adding for a steamy scene in book one (Hellsbane) Here is a small piece of a great scene, you can read the whole excerpt if you like at the book tour post, that also has a giveaway if you want. That post is Here

I chose Eli, because he is just so hot, sexy, but sweet and everything a guys should be, but he is also forbidden, which as we all know also has its appeal.

Teaser (yes its longer, but worth it,)

He huddled around me, his lips brushing my ear, sending a quick volley of tingles over my skin. “I’ve missed you,” he said.
I swallowed hard, drowning in the emotion at the back of my throat. “I’ve missed you too,” I said, but my voice cracked, the last of it barely a whisper.
He turned me around, one arm holding my waist, the other hand catching my chin and raising my gaze to his. “They were wrong, Emma Jane. What I feel, it’s not what they think, what they fear. It can’t be…it’s more than that. I’ve been at home—at peace with my brothers, but you have never left my thoughts. There are so many wondrous things on heaven and earth that I wanted to show you, to share with you. It seemed every moment something new would make my mind turn to ask for your thoughts and my eyes search for your face. A comfort I’d grown accustomed to without realizing. A comfort I am finding it difficult to live without. I am lost without you. For even surrounded by all those who love me I am alone—unfinished. I missed you. Why is that wrong?”
My chest tightened and I inhaled hard, forcing my lungs to fill. I knew by the way he’d said it that he wasn’t really asking me, but I wished with all my heart I could give him an answer. “I don’t know.”
“Neither do I.” Before the last of his words left his mouth, Eli leaned down and pressed his lips to mine.
Heat spread through my body like a bolt of lightning, warming me from the inside out in an instant. My mind spun as his tongue stroked against my lips, gentle at first and then more demanding. I opened to him, tasting his sweet warmth—the warmth of an angel.
His arms slipped around me, pulling me closer until our bodies molded to each other. The hardness of his excitement pressed against me, cueing my brain, crystallizing my awareness. The risk we were taking, what it meant if we let go of our last thread of control, melted from my thoughts. We could do this. We could be together. All that was stopping us was…

My Book Boyfriend this week is the hot Torin from the Immortals series by Ednah Walters, (Book one is Runes and Book 2 is Immortals) He starts off arrogant, cocky and a bit rude, but changes and is sweet, fiercely protective and a great guy all around.
Teaser #1 ( arrogant jerk at first) from book One Runes

“He said he would be at the house of...” he pulled out a piece of paper from the back of his biker glove, the fingerless kind, and read, “Raine Cooper.”
“That’s me. Lorraine Cooper, but everyone calls me Raine. You know, rain with a silent E,” I said even though he didn’t ask for an explanation. I tended to blabber when nervous. “Yeah, well, Eirik’s not here.”
“When do you expect him? Or should I ask when does he usually get here, Raine with an E?” the guy asked.
I bristled, not liking his mocking tone or the way he spoke slowly as though I was a dimwit. “He doesn’t always come here after school, you know. You could try his house or text him.”
Mr. Hot-but-arrogant shrugged. “If I wanted to use modern technology I would, but I’d rather not. Could you do me a favor?”
Use modern technology? Which cave did he crawl from? He spoke with a trace of an accent that had a familiar lilt. British or Aussie? I could never tell the difference.
He sighed. “You’re shaking your head again. Did my question confuse you? Am I talking too fast, too slow, or is it me? I’ve been told my presence tends to, uh, throw people off.”

Teaser #2 (conceited, from book one, Runes)

He must be seriously into working out. No one could be this ripped without hitting the gym daily.
“My face is up here, Freckles.”
My eyes flew to his, and heat flooded my cheeks. I rushed into speech to cover my embarrassment. “I, uh, I was just leaving to go to swim practice and… and...”
“I distracted you. Sorry about that.”
He didn’t sound sorry. “You didn’t.”
He cocked his eyebrows. “Didn’t what?”
“Distract me,” I snapped and snatched the mail in his hands. “Thanks. I was checking my text messages when I should have been paying attention to where I was going,” I fibbed.
Amusement flared in his eye, his expression saying he recognized my explanation for what it was: a lie. He had incredibly long lashes and beautiful eyes. Sapphire came to mind but…

Teaser #3 (Sweet, romantic, Steamy and Hot) From Immortals book 2

He cupped my face, caressing my cheeks with the pads of his thumb. “Forget privacy. I can’t wait.”
He lowered his head, his warm breath chasing the cool air off my skin. My lips tingled. In my fantasy he’d made me wait, teasing me and making me crave his touch. This was real, and I didn’t want to wait. I reached up, gripping his wrist, went on my toes, and met him halfway.
The taste of him sent every thought from my head. Every breath I took was filled with his scent. My hands moved to his chest and curled up, bunching the fabric of his shirt. His slipped through my hair and gripped the back of my head, the other moved lower, wrapping around my waist and bringing my body flush with his as he deepened the kiss. With each caress of his tongue, the hole inside my chest shrunk. This was what I’d been craving, this connection, the blending of our souls. Sensation after sensation rocked through me, and a moan escaped me. He echoed it then tore his lips away and pressed his forehead against mine, his breath ragged, his eyes closed.
“I needed that,” he whispered, his voice tight.
Me too. I buried my face on his chest, my arms wrapping round him.

Book Boyfriend of the Week #6

My pick for my Book Boyfriend of the Week is Will Herondale from the Infernal Devices series, and these teasers from Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. (paranormal romance, its YA age category)

Teaser #1 Funny (for those who do not know, Magnus is a warlock with cat eyes, and Church is a special cat)

Will turned around slowly, wiping blood from his face. “Your glaring at me,” he said to Magnus. “You look like Church before he bites someone.

Teaser #2 Loyal and just overall a great guy: (for those who do not know, his best friend Jem is dying, and Tessa is someone he is in love with, but no one knew, and Jem also is in love with her, and she had accepted his marriage perposal before she even knew Will loved her, as she also loves him, but she also loves Jem in a different way. Jem is dying so it puts them all in an impossible position, and where this scene comes from)

“If Jem dies, I cannot be with Tessa,” said Will. “Because it will be as if I were waiting for him to die, or took some joy in his death, if it let me have her. And I will not be that person. I will not profit from his death. So he must live.”

Teaser #3  heartbreaking ~ Will talking to Tessa, and in previous book, Tessa told Will she didn’t love him, thinking it would spare him or something, since she was marrying Jem, he does not know she loves him too. So Sad.

“You remember what else I said to you that day in the drawing room,” he said. “I want you to be happy, and him to be happy. And yet when you walk that aisle to meet him and join yourselves forever you will walk an invisible path of the shards of my heart, Tessa. I would give over my own life for either of yours. I would give over my own life for your happiness. I thought perhaps that when you told me you did not love me that my own feelings would fall away and atrophy, but they have not. They have grown every day. I love you now more desperately, this moment, than I have ever loved you before, and in an hour I will love you more than that. It is unfair to tell you this, I know, when you can do nothing about it.” He took a shuddering breath. “How you must despise me.”

I hope you likes my pick this week. I love this series, which is a prequel series of sorts to the Mortal Instruments; basically in this series we have some ancestors to the characters in the Mortal Instruments, and some of the same characters, even hundreds of years later, like the Warlock Magnus Bane, and the special cat Church. If you have not checked out this series and the Mortal Instruments, I highly recommend you look into them.

If you want to participate in this, and need the button and banners, I made them, and have 4 versions of them, I have them the last post HERE, so grab the one you want.

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3)
by Cassandra Clare

A net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. Mortmain plans to use his Infernal Devices, an army of pitiless automatons, to destroy the Shadowhunters. He needs only one last item to complete his plan: he needs Tessa Gray.

Charlotte Branwell, head of the London Institute, is desperate to find Mortmain before he strikes. But when Mortmain abducts Tessa, the boys who lay equal claim to her heart, Jem and Will, will do anything to save her. For though Tessa and Jem are now engaged, Will is as much in love with her as ever.

As those who love Tessa rally to rescue her from Mortmain’s clutches, Tessa realizes that the only person who can save her is herself. But can a single girl, even one who can command the power of angels, face down an entire army?

Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment, and the tangled threads of love and loss intertwine as the Shadowhunters are pushed to the very brink of destruction in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy.

Book Boyfriend of the Week #5

My pick for my Book Boyfriend of the Week Emane from the Solus Trilogy by Devri Walls  WIngs of Arian, Wings of Tavea and Wings of Nestor, though there is a 4th book, so not sure why its still called a trilogy, lol. Below are some teasers from the first book, Wings of Arian. Its a great series, its a fantasy book (paranormal romance, its YA age category)

You can go to my post for the series review (non-spoiler) and for the first chapter of book one if you want. Check out the others in the series, and the amazing covers for them, especially book fours cover. Go Here for that post

If you want to participate in this, and need the button and banners, I made them, and have 4 versions of them, I have them the last post HERE, so grab the one you want.

Teaser 1 (jerk/arrogant)
“Do you remember when we first met?” she asked, folding her arms in front of her. “You mistook me for a servant, handed me your laundry, and then was angry with me for not agreeing to do it anyway.”
He smothered a smile, “Most girls would have done the laundry.”
Her mouth twisted ruefully. Shaking her head, she said, “I knew that was the problem.”
“That you wouldn’t do my laundry? Please, Kiora, I have more than one...”
“No, you aren’t used to anyone standing up to you.”
“That’s ridiculous,” he scoffed.
“Really? You still seem to have problems with me standing up to you; or at least failing to grovel at your feet.” Like all the other girls, she thought.

Teaser 2 (sweet)
Emane put his hand behind her neck and pulled her into him. He kissed her, hard. It was desperate and strong and so much different from the first time he had kissed her. He softened his grip on her neck and kissed her again.
“Emane,” she whispered, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t hurt me, Kiora.”

Teaser 3 (romantic)
“Kiora,” he said, leaning in as if he wanted to move forward but was riveted in place, “I love you.”
Tears rose to her eyes and guilt stabbed her heart, “Emane,” she pleaded, gripping her head, “don’t, please, I don’t deserve it.”
“Why?” he demanded, lurching forward, “Why don’t you deserve it?”
“Because, I can’t…I mean, I’m not ready to…” she stopped and buried her head into her knees.
He knelt beside her, “Because you can’t tell me that you love me?” A sob racked her body. “It’s okay, Kiora.” She felt his hand tentative on her back. “I am willing to wait until you are ready.”
Kiora squeezed her eyes even tighter, “Why?” Her voice was muffled from being shoved into her knees.
“Because,” he spoke with gut wrenching intensity, “you are worth waiting for.”

BOOK 1
Wings of Arian
by Devri Walls
Series: Solus #1
Published: April 24th 2012

Synopsis:

Kiora thought she had never heard a lie until she was sixteen. But she was wrong. Her entire existence was based on nothing but. She thought that evil did not exist. Lie. That magic was not real. Lie. And that the land of Meros was all there was. One more lie.

With Aleric telling her that evil is knocking on the door and that she is the only one who can stop them she has a choice to make. Refuse, or start the wildest most painful ride of her life.
She reluctantly dips her toe into her new existence of magic and threads, dragons and shapeshifters, and the person who wants to take control of it all: the evil Dralazar.

However, this journey was never meant to be hers alone. She will be accompanied by a Protector. To her disbelief, and utter irritation they name the hotheaded, stubborn, non -magical, (albeit gorgeous) Prince Emane. They will have to trust each other with their lives, but right now Kiora would settle for a non hostile conversation.

And now it comes down to this, If you had never heard a lie, would you know when you heard one? Is knowing good from evil innate? Kiora finds herself having to decide who lives and who dies on those very questions.
