BIO:
J. A. Huss never took a creative writing class in her life. Some would say it shows. Others might cut her some slack. She did however, get educated and graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Equine Science. She had grand dreams of getting a Ph.D. but while she loves science, she hated academia and settled for a M.S. in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida.She went on to write science curriculum for homeschoolers and now runs a successful home business that creates and offers online science unit studies. When she’s not writing science curriculum or fiction, she works as a farm inspector, traveling the Eastern Plains of Colorado in variety of environmentally friendly vehicles that never have four-wheel drive, so when she gets stuck in the mud in said vehicles, she has to beg for assistance from anyone who will help her. She is not bitter about that at all.She’s always packing heat and she is owned by two donkeys, five dogs, more chickens and ducks than she can count, and of course, the real filthy animals, her kids. The I Am Just Junco series was born after falling in love with the ugliest part of Colorado and the Rural Republic is based on the area of the state she currently resides in, minus the mutants, of course.

Flight (I am Just Junco #3) Review
Wow, I don’t really know where to start. I am still reeling from the emotional turmoil this book put me through. This is for sure a book that’s going to leave me with a book hangover, and that’s a bummer, as I hate waiting, and need book 4 NOW, Please, I need it like water!
Ok, so now that I got that out, lol
Flight, which is book three of the I Am Just Junco series, and continues the kickass action from books 1 (Clutch) and book 2 (Fledge) We find our awesome Junco in more adventure, and tangled up in more new missions. Junco had managed to save Tier’s life in Fledge and now has managed to secure a spot as a member of the avians. Junco and Tier even got to spend some private time together as well.
Now they have to go on new missions to wipe out any remaining threats. She starts to get pulled into many directions and I really feel for Junco. Lets say the reunion with her “parents” was not the best.
We get to see more of Isten in this one, Junco and Isten get closer, but not exactly how you think. I will leave that for you to discover.
They need to go to Earth and get the rest of the seven siblings in the attempt to save the avian race.
We get a return of some previous characters, like Asher, Isten, Lucan, and more.
I do not really know what to think of Lucan, he is still a mystery to me. Isten, he is ok, Asher, he is cool, same for me. Love Tier as usual. Now we get the return of someone from Junco’s past, we learn some of Gideon from some dreams Junco has, but really they are memories that are coming back I think. He seems alright, I can see him becoming a favorite to me, I still love Tier, and see him and Junco together, but who knows.
I feel so much for Junco, she loses so much, it just makes your heart ache for her. She starts to learn more truths about herself that she either didn’t know, or didn’t remember. The poor girl is so messed up, and it makes you wonder how the heck she holds it together as well as she does.
In the end, I agree with what she did, completely, I can understand it. But I am not so sure about the whole Lucan thing. I just can’t bring myself to trust him. Maybe because he has so much power. I don’t know. I just can’t connect with Lucan like I do the others.
Anyway, I do not want to say a whole lot more, but want to give you a great teaser for you, that just cracked me up.
Here is one, where she is on Earth, and just got there, where Gideon is (he is from her past, but she is not remembering it all the way) Anyway, he is human, no wings, and this part is funny. He needs to help her get a human made dress on (long story there) on account of the wings, so here is it:
He moves towards me reluctantly and then tugs on my wings a little as he maneuvers the fabric. I cry out a few times when it gets overwhelming."Does it hurt? To touch them?" he asks me as I'm finally pulling the dress down over my legs."No, it's sexual, Gideon. You might as well be feeling me up."I fasten my boots and watch as he blushes like a girl and turns away. "Is that a joke?"I laugh. "A joke? No. I rarely make jokes.""Oh, shit. I don't have any experience with wings, I'm sorry."
I laughed out loud at that, lol. Gideon seems to be a good guy. We will see what happens there.
Some major stuff goes down, and can’t spoil it for you, but you’re in for some surprises.
If you had not read the first 2 books, go read them, they are great, and it’s an ongoing story, you need to read them all in order or it won’t be as fulfilling, and likely get be lost.
I highly recommend this amazing dystopian scifi/dark fantasy type book. Its amazing.
