Book Boyfriend of the Week: Echo from Grimnirs (Runes #2.5) by Ednah Walters ~ Teasers

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about their book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

Want to participate?

Then all you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.

2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.

3) Pick a quote from his book, long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is.

4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises).

5) Share it! And shout it out using the #Reading and Things.

My Book Boyfriend this week is

I chose Echo from Grimnirs (Runes #2.5) by Ednah Walters. He is a sexy, cocky, arrogant but sweet at times hunk of a guy. He is a Grimnir, who is immortal, If you have not checked out this series yet, you need too. Its amazing! Hope you enjoy the teasers I chose for this. Sorry for the lack of Book Boyfriend post lately, life has gotten in the way for some post, but should be back on track now to participate as much as I can.

Teaser #1 (cocky, arrogant, still sexy)

“Will you be serious for even a second?” I asked.
“Don’t you want to be mine forever?”
“Ew, no.” I made a face. “I don’t even like you.”
“What’s liking me got to do with anything? As long as you want me, I’m good.”
“I don’t want you.”
He gave me a slow wicked smile. “Want me to prove it?”
Silence followed, and I could feel heat crawling up my face. He reached out to touch my face, but I dodged his hand.
“Okay, I’m kidding about the blood,” he said. “But you can bite me any time.” He proudly showed me the bite mark I’d left on his hand. The runes on his hand glowed bright and the wound sealed, the blood disappearing too. “It’s nothing my runes can’t heal. To bond with me, sweet-cheeks, I’d have to rune you.”
“Rune me?”
“Etch these,” he pointed at his tattoos,

Teaser #2 (stubborn, tries to be honorable, kindof)

He tucked strands of my wet hair behind my ear and moved his hand as though to cup my face. He stopped, fisted his hand, and let it drop by his side. “St. James was right about me. I use people and discard them when I’m done. I play dirty and don’t care who gets hurt in the process as long as I win.”
“But—”
He placed a finger on my lips. “Let me finish. I’ve been doing it for centuries, and I don’t think I can change. I’m no good for anyone, least of all you, doll-face.”
“Don’t say that!” I whispered.
He closed his eyes, and when he continued, his voice was heartbreakingly sad. “I will bring you nothing but misery and heartache, Cora. Believe me. I know what I’m talking about.” He opened his eyes and ran his thumb across my lips. His head dipped as though he was going to kiss me, but he stepped back, arm dropping to his side. “I shouldn’t even be touching you. Come on. I’ll escort you home.” He reached for car door and indicated I enter.
I pushed the door shut. “What do you mean by you know what you’re talking about?”
“It can’t work between us.”
“Why not?”
“You know why.”

Teaser #3 (Steamy, sexy, and just hot!)

“Tell me about your fantasies, Cora.”
Heat crawled up my face. I shook my head.
He leaned down, shifted his weight on one elbow, and kissed the skin above my tank top. He left a heated trail as his lips moved to my shoulder, one hand slipping under my tank top and caressing me intimately. I shivered. I didn’t know what to do with my hands, so I stroked his hair and shoulders. His muscles spasmed as though my touch sent a shock through him.
“If you tell me yours, I’ll tell you mine,” he whispered against my neck, and I shuddered at the sensation. “Please, Cora. Tell me about your darkest, juiciest fantasies.”
I tried to focus on the conversation, but my mind was slow to respond. “I want to undress you. Slowly.”
I couldn’t believe I’d actually said it. He went still, and I was sure he was going to laugh.
“Okay, doll-face. Undress me.” He jumped off the bed and waited, hands on his hips, stance cocky, and an intense sensual gleam in his eyes.
Heart pounding, anticipation making me dizzy, I slid off the bed and went to stand in front of him on wobbly legs. Biting my lower lip in concentration, I undid the next button on his vest.
“Look at me,” he ordered.
Our eyes met, and my hand went still. Heat leaped in his wolfish eyes. He brushed my lower lip, forcing me to relinquish it. Muttering a curse, he cupped the back of my head and captured my lips, his tongue slipping inside my mouth to find mine.
Stunned, I forgot about undressing him. The kiss was fierce. Hot. Mind-numbing. I grabbed his arms and hung on.
He lifted his head to growl, “You have thirty seconds, sweetheart. Then I’m taking over.”

Grimnirs (Runes #2.5)

by Ednah Walters
Published December 2nd 2013 by Firetrail Publishing
ISBN 0983429790
(ISBN13: 9780983429791)

Straight out of the psych ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The guy she’s loved from a distance for years moves away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing.The connection defies logic. Even better, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Too bad Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. He is also a soul reaper. A Grimnir.
The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life.

Check out the rest in the series too:

Swoon #YA Bound ~ Great Swoon Scenes From Time's Twisted Arrow 2/28

Hosted By YA Bound. It's that time again! We (YA Bound) created a HOT meme, and if you're new to the game, here's how to join in the fun:

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button at YA Bound (I made my own) and share it on your blog. We want to know.

Swoon Scene:

I pulled my body closer to his and slipped my fingers inside his collar, running my hand against his chest. "And I love you, Trey. I want you." I hesitated, looking for the right words. "I've never…with anyone…but I want you..."Then his mouth was on mine, hard and hungry. His hands moved up the side of my body and I arched reflexively toward him. For several minutes, there was nothing else in the world, just the two of us, his body against mine—and then he broke away and sat up, staring down at the carpet.

And another hot swoon scene, just had to share

He tilted my chin up ever so slightly and I looked into his dark eyes, as wet with tears as my own. "You cannot hide from your heart, Kate. It always finds you. And, sadly, I cannot hide from mine."He pulled me into his arms and kissed me—softly at first and then with a passion that shook me to my very foundation. I was carried back to the wheat field just as clearly as I had been when I first looked into the medallion. There were at least two blankets between us, not to mention clothes, but the memory was so strong that I could almost feel his bare skin against mine. A slow delicious burn rose from deep inside me as I kissed him back, wrapping my hands in his long black hair and pulling his face toward mine.

Time's Twisted Arrow (The Chronos Files #1)
Published October 1st 2012 by Gypsy Moon Books (first published September 15th 2012)
ISBN13 9780988351110

They weren't panic attacks. Of that, seventeen year old Kate is certain, no matter what the shrink told her parents. But it's even harder to accept the explanation offered by her terminally ill grandmother - that Kate has inherited designer DNA from the time-traveling historians of CHRONOS, who were stranded in the past by a saboteur. Kate knows that her grandmother's story could easily be the brain tumor talking, but that doesn't explain the odd medallion or the two young men - one of them hauntingly familiar -- who simply vanish before her eyes on the subway. It doesn't explain Trey, the handsome stranger who now occupies Kate's assigned seat in trig class. And it definitely doesn't explain why Kate is now in an alternate timeline, where leaders of a previously unknown cult hold great power and are planning a rather drastic form of environmental defense.
In this new reality, Kate's grandmother was murdered at age twenty-two on a research trip to the past, which means that Kate's mother was never born, her father doesn't know her and, for all intents and purposes, she doesn't exist. The only thing keeping her from disappearing entirely is the strange blue medallion around her neck, and the only thing keeping her sane is her burgeoning relationship with Trey. To restore the time line, Kate must travel back to 1893 and keep herself and her grandmother clear of H.H. Holmes, the serial killer who is stalking young women at the Chicago World's Fair. But that choice comes at a price - she'll remember the past few months with Trey, but when he looks at her, he'll see a total stranger.

Please give the Disqus comments time to load, if you try and comment on the blogger one, I will not see it, and neither will anyone else. My Blogger comments have been broken for awhile, its why I use this one. So please, just give it time if it loads slow. Thanks. I look forward to the comments and reading all the other swoons.

Teaser #1
Quadruple crap. Why couldn’t I control myself? Why did he have this effect on me? “Are you compelling me right now?”To my surprise, his smile held an edge of sadness. “That would give you a much needed excuse, but I am afraid I am not.”Curse my body for reacting to his. As long as I kept him out of my heart, I would be okay.“I think it a bit too late for that, my dear.”“You’re using old man speak again.” I made a face. “It’s creepy.”He chuckled. “I’ll try to remember that, but I haven’t been around humans much in the past hundred years. It’s hard to keep up with the changes in common dialect.”“Let’s keep on topic, Jett. You were going to teach me how to control my mind.”

Teaser #2
Once freed from the barrier our souls connected briefly before he pulled away. In that insanely short time, I knew him. It would take me an eternity to sort through all this information, but I couldn’t wait that long.I flung myself at him and peppered his face with kisses. He laughed and pulled me tighter, pushing me up against the closed door. He braced my back and lifted. I wrapped my legs around his waist, preparing for the best kiss of my life.“Ahem.”I clamped my eyes shut and groaned. How had I forgotten Grace was in the room? I lowered myself to the floor and Heath gave me a look that told me we would finish this later.Oh yeah we would.

Teaser #1
I fist my hands in anger and frustration, instinctively trying to draw on my magic. But there’s nothing, not the least inkling of power. While there have been many times I wished I could leave my power behind, now that it’s gone I feel too vulnerable.

Teaser #2 ( From Grace’s POV)
I look at my lower arm but can’t see the damage because it’s covered with my long-sleeved T-shirt. But it doesn’t matter. More than anything, I need to find Keller. I have to believe he’s alive. I can’t even think otherwise. I yank against the manacles holding my wrists and ankles to thick metal rings. I pull so hard that sweat beads on my forehead and my joints ache with the effort, but it’s no use. I’m helpless, at the mercy of whoever walks through the door across from me.The tears finally spill over and track down my cheeks. Not knowing Keller’s fate is killing me.

Teaser #1
Then he leans forward and his lips touch mine, so softly, really, but at the massive jolt it sends into my system, the dragonflies explode into a full-fledged frenzy. And then we’re really kissing, and he’s like a drug or fine wine or any of those things that people say make them lightheaded and delirious. My body moves with a mind of its own, close as possible to his, because I want him, need him so much that it’s almost painful. Thunder cracks overhead and the rain falls harder. But I don’t care, because the only thing that matters is this connection between the two of us and the way it makes me feel.

Teaser #2
“What . . . ? Cora. What’s wrong with her?” The words float above me as I sink into the pool below.“She’s got a concussion, Karl,” Cora says. Her voice is no more than a whisper. “And I can’t do much about it while you’re driving like a madman!”My head drops below the water line, ending my ability to hear anything else they might have to say about me.

A Matter of Fate
Facing an unstable future, Chela Prizeon leaves Castle Hayne and crosses over to enemy territory in pursuit of Faris--the boy of royal blood who is cursed by a bitter rival. But soon Chela learns that he has been taken deep into the treacherous frozen prisons--a majestic, but deadly place where people enter and are never seen again. To find the boy she loves, Chela must join forces with one of her greatest enemies. And even though she pulls strength from the good in her powers, she finds herself drawn to the dark side's temptation as well.
Narrated from both Chela's and Faris's point of view, this enchanting sequel to When Copper Suns Fall will take them on a voyage into unknown lands, where the dark, twisted, and revengeful wait to make this their most dangerous journey ever.
Please Note: This book contains mature content including profanity, drug/alcohol use, and sexual situations/language.

Prologue
My name is Chela Prizeon.

Two months ago, I celebrated my seventeenth birthday with my twin brother, Micah. The day was cheerful enough, I guess. Neither of us thought we would ever each other again.
My brother spent almost an entire year of his life in a coma, a supernatural one. His soul was trapped inside of a land parallel to ours, a place hidden by an ancient type of magic. The ruler of this world, a girl who appears to be not much older than Micah and me, captured his spirit, but not his body. Through a spell, she ripped him out of our lives. And he fought it. With my sacrifice and through our special bond, we defeated the one known as Rabia.
Life should be great for me, right? But we live in a society where my kind—the humans with angel-blood—are executed on a regular basis. I look over my shoulder each day hoping that my brother and I won’t be discovered. It’s funny because a small of me wants to be found out, so that Father, Micah, and everyone I hold dear will be safe.
But for now, I return to a normal life as I try to keep memories of the boy with the silver eyes out of my head. Who am I kidding? He rules me, possesses my mind, my body, each part of my very existence. To deny him is like throwing my body on a sword, slicing into my heart as he twists the blade into my soul.
The apocalyptic war between the humans and the angels that happened fifty-five years ago was only the beginning. Now, a new evil threatens to destroy the peace Faris’s people worked so hard to create. The time will come when the thing I recently discovered inside myself will be put to a test.
I hope that I am worthy of this power given to me by the ancient ones, the Lost Immortals.
I pray for their forgiveness, if I am not.

Teaser:
The main difference between the two boys is their hair color and texture. Where Seth has the gray streaks framing his face and wavy brown hair, Faris has straight black hair that he usually wears in a ponytail. Now, that I know the two are brothers, the way they resemble one another so much is, well, a little bothersome to me.“I feel you staring at me,” he says with his eyes closed.Wait! The ghost has come alive.Right away, he moves to a position on his side and props his head over on his hand. He gives me a mischievous, dimpled grin. “Does it turn you on when you compare me to my brother?”Crap! Busted, Prizeon.Damn him for being so observant.

ELYSIAN (Celestra Series Book 8)(Skyla and Marshall)
I clasp my hand over his and then I see it, our entire future laid out in one seamless erotic stream.“Good God,” I pant. “This had better be some warped fantasy or I’m going to…”“Or you’re going to what?” He firms his grip over mine and I choke out a breath, completely intoxicated by the viral sensation he’s railing through me.“Viral sensation,” he huffs. “You know very well you’re trembling from the sheer pleasure of the escapades you’re privy to. In fact, why waste another moment leering when we can indulge our flesh in real time. I’ll take you to the future at once.”The room claps to darkness and we disappear.

I am reading an Advance Copy of Vlkolak King (The Gothic Memoirs Book 4) Which is out Oct 31 (I have a giveaway for it Oct 30, and all 3 previous books in a giveaway going now) This book is not on Goodreads yet, but you can see my cover reveal post here with the blurb. HERE, but if you had not read the first 3 books, you may not want to, so not to spoil anything.

Teaser #1

Alexei caressed my back. “Are you all right?”
“I’m fine … but you know I hate crowds and people in general, for that matter. That was absolutely awful, and I’m certain I will never put myself through again. Why on Earth would people feel the need to go up to a complete stranger and kiss them? It’s weird, right?” I waited for him to confirm and approve my neurotic issues. All I got was a look of disbelief. “My darling, you are a social nightmare.”

Teaser #2

“And I love you— all of you. I love your temper, your sick and twisted sense of humor, and most of all, your empathetic nature. I don’t see them as flaws; they’re your strengths. I wouldn't change a thing about you, my love.”
I just looked at him adoringly—I was so in love with that man, it was ridiculous. How he could love me back, as he claimed, was a mystery—I didn't deserve him.

I Just finished up Hidden (Firelight 3) by Sophie Jordan (the final book, so sad to see it go) My review will come soon. I went back and forth from reading kindle to listening with the wispersynce with audible, quite cool that. Loved being able to listen too when doing housework.

I have one Teaser for you.
Teaser:

I feel my lips part, speak, say something. I can’t be sure what—not while I can’t hear my own voice. Not while a million thoughts ricochet through me. I think I say Will’s name. Tamra. Mom. Help, help, help … Then nothing as darkness rolls in.

I am sharing the beginning of Bitter Frost (Books 1 and 2 in this one, 1 Bitter Frost, 2nd The Wolf Fey)  Goodreads

Prologue:

The dream had come again, like the sun after a storm. It was the same dream that had come many times before, battering down the doors of my mind night after night since I was a child. It was the sort of dreams all girls dream, I suppose – a dream of mysterious worlds and hidden doorways, of leaves that breathe and make music when they are rustled in the wind, and rivers that bubble and froth with secrets. Dreams, my mother always told me, represent part of our unconsciousness – the place where we store the true parts of our soul, away from the rest of the world. My mother was an artist; she always thought this way. If it was true, then my true soul was a denizen of this strange and fantastical world. I often felt, in waking hours, that I was in exile, somehow – somehow less myself, less true, than I had been in my enchanted slumber. The real world was only a dream, only an echo, and in silent moments throughout the day it would hit me: I am not at home here.

Be sure to see my current giveways, I have all of them on my Current Giveaways Page, its just a link to main page, and the rafflecopter. That way, they all are in one place. Some of the book tour ones are really good giveaways, so check them out.  here is link to that page.
