Friday Feature and Follow Hop 10/11

Welcome to the Feature & Follow Hop, Hosted By Parajunkee's and

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop, that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participation, and to expand their following. Each of our great host will feature a chosen blog each week, it’s an interesting way to get to know one another.

This weeks question: Q: What Book do you think would make a great Halloween Movie? Please explain in graphic detail of goriness…
Darkness Falls (Darkness Falls Book 1) By Jessica Sorensen comes to Mind, read this little tease to see why, we have zombie like vampires in a dystopian world, and its creepy, gory, and scary at times, an awesome book.
It’s as dark as death, but I can still make out the blood dripping from the monsters eyes and the gaping wounds mapping its flesh. Its fangs tremble for my neck, desperate to devour—needing to feed. I search the ground for my weapon—I need my weapon.
But it seizes me by the shoulders and digs its fleshless fingers into my arms. My skin starts to give. If it breaks, I’ll be infected.

What do you think? This is the new cover for Darkness Falls , and Darkness Breaks is book 2, its out now. Find them at Goodreads

If your new to the Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can come and see your blog. If your a new follower, let me know that too.

Summary for Darkness Falls, Its an amazing book. This is book one.

When the disease spread through the world, people had no choice but to go into hiding. The Colony is hidden deep underground, far away from the vampires—humans that were transformed by the disease. The vampires are hideous, starving, and they will kill any human they come across.
Seventeen-year-old Kayla is a Bellator, a warrior that protects The Colony. In order to survive, there are three rules she must follow:
Rule #1—Never go out after dark.
Rule #2—Always carry a weapon.
Rule #3—No matter what, never EVER get bitten.
But what happens when the rules Kayla has always lived by can no longer apply?
The Highers run The Colony and accept nothing less than perfection. One slip up can mean death. Kayla has always worked hard to follow the rules and strive for perfection. But during a moment of weakness, she lets her imperfections show. Her punishment is worse than death. She is chosen for The Gathering and is thrown out into a world full of starving vampires.
No one has ever survived The Gathering, at least that’s what Kayla’s been told. But when she runs into a group who insist they were once part of The Gathering, Kayla discovers the Highers have been keeping secrets. Secrets that could lead to a cure.

Darkness Breaks (Darkness Falls Series Book 2) By Jessica Sorensen - Book Review

Darkness Breaks (Darkness Falls Series, #2)Darkness Breaks by Jessica Sorensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, I have been on a roller-coaster of a ride with this book, the 2nd in the Darkness Falls Series. It was full of action, suspense and emotion’s are all over the place.

This one really tugs at your heart strings.
The relationship with Kayla and Sylas has grown, and some of those walls Sylas has built up have come down. The way he really feels is shown to us, and Kayla. She also gets some important memories back, and a whole new batch of questions arise.

Tristen shows up in this one, to kill Kayla, and Sylas saves her life on more than one occasion, and she saves his back. She makes some big sacrifices and choices that had to be hard, and really makes you feel what she is going through. I used to be a huge Aiden fan, but after this book, I think I go to Sylas side now.

The ending is a huge cliffhanger, and I really hate that I have to wait to find out what happens next, lol. It’s got some sad parts too, had me in tears.

This Book is a great follow-up to the first one Darkness Breaks. I anxiously wait for the 3rd.

If you have not read any in this new series from Jessica Sorensen, you really should give it a try. Make sure to read Darkness Falls then this one Darkness Breaks (Darkness Falls Book 2)

(Sumary below from Goodreads)

Kayla made her choice and now she has to live with it. She stays with the Day Takers, hiding in the city, staking vampires. But fighting vampires as a human is difficult.
Sylas constantly pressures Kayla to choose the life of a Day Taker. But until Kayla knows what Monarch is planning, she can’t make her choice. Plus there’s Aiden. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t stop thinking about him.
As Kayla’s memories resurface, the pieces of her history unfold. She learns of Cell 7, a place that Kayla believes holds the answers to the creation of the virus. But getting to Cell 7 is a dangerous mission. And with Kayla's strength weakening, it's one mission she might not make it through alive

Jessica Sorensen
has done it yet again, she has blown me away with yet another series!

I really love Jessica's Fallen Star Series, and while waiting for that next book, I read this one, and loved it. I think this book is totally unique, has a different spin on the usual vampire books. I was pleasantly surprised, which I should not have been, as I love Jessica's writing. She found a way to make a whole new type of world, like a paranormal dystopian type. I really enjoyed how different this world is. And we have the vampires in this one more as monsters/zombie looking, but then there is the mystery around the the Colony and Kayla herself.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you have read and liked her other books,The Fallen Star, The Underworld, The Vision, The Promise.
