Book Description:
After being enslaved on the spaceship Extarga for most of her life Analia has no memory of her life before, and has lost all knowledge of her people. Her mysterious gift and pointed ears are the only indication that she is different.
Analia is alone, and for all she knows, she's the last of her kind. By chance Analia escapes her captors, and hides herself on the merchant ship Marada, planning to get off at the very next stop.
Unfortunately for her, there is no next stop. The crew is planning a delivery that could take months, and according to a stipulation in the newly signed contract, no one is allowed on or off the ship until the package is delivered.
When Analia is found by the captain of the Marada, she must adapt to her new role on the ship, and try to control her newly awakened desire for the brutal and devastatingly erotic demon.
Excerpt:
Anya watched Sebastian from the corner of her eye as he went to work cleaning away the blood. He was focused and intent on his task, but couldn't seem to stop touching her in little ways. Softly brushing her hair, her shoulder, her hip. Was he checking her for further injuries? It seemed more intimate than that. It was almost as if he didn't even realize he was doing it.
His tenderness with her was astonishing. While he was focused on wiping the blood from her cut, Anya allowed herself to study him closer. He seemed calm now, though his energy was still erratic.
When he had first returned, still resembling the monster, it had terrified her. He'd still been enraged, much more so, it seemed. And not for the first time, she'd thought he might hurt her.
But when his eyes had found hers, he'd visibly relaxed, instantly morphing back into the Bastian she recognized.
With a gentleness contradictory to the man standing before her, he cleaned her wound. By his soft pats and concerned looks, she knew now that he would never hurt her. She felt silly for ever thinking otherwise. He'd shown her nothing but kindness from the beginning.
“You're not frightened of me anymore?” he asked without averting his gaze from the cut on her cheek.
He was almost completely back to normal now. His horns were returning to their original dark black, and his fangs had receded. Thinking back to his other form, she couldn't muster the terror it had inspired in the first place. “No,” she said simply.
“So easily?”
“You make it hard to fear you, Sebastian, when you treat me the way you do.”
“And how's that then?”
“Like you would never hurt me, no matter how angry you are, or how much you might want to.”
His golden eyes locked on hers with such intensity it stole her breath. “I would never want to hurt you.” Cupping her face, he rubbed his thumb along her unmarked cheek. “I could never hurt you. If anything ever happened to you, I fear I will be trapped on the Edge forever.” Leaning in, he lightly kissed her bruise. “I think of you constantly.” He kissed her forehead. “Always.” Then with the lightest touch, he kissed her lips.
With words so sweet, Anya couldn't help but lean into him. This wasn't the demanding kiss from before. This was soft, smooth, tender. This time he allowed her to explore him at her leisure. His lips were soft and warm, molded to hers, and she caressed them.
Her second real kiss ever was turning out to be the most erotic experience of her life. Sebastian was watching her with his liquid gold eyes, filled with restrained lust as he let her place soft kisses on him.

My Review
Dang, was this a great book! It had all the elements that I like in a book, it had the must have paranormal element, with some sci-fi mixed in, meaning they are in space, and there is other species too, the Demons in this book are more of another race from another planet, instead of the demons and angels type you would normally think of.
It was a little more naughty than I am comfortable reading, but I just skim over those parts, lol. I know I am weird, lol. I loved the story, so kept reading anyway. I know many out there like the major steam in their books, so if you like the suspense and mystery mixed with major hot guys (ok demons, but the look like humans, except one small part I won’t mention)
I really connected with the characters. I felt really bad for Anya and the life she lived for so long. I was so glad that she was able to grow into a strong person, and not be the victim anymore.
I liked Sebastian for the most part, he was a demon of course and his ways are different than that of a human, so had to take that into consideration. I actually love the different perspectives we get in this book, its not written in the first person, so this helps with that. I did have to get used to it, but it didn’t take me very long at all.
I am defiantly a fan for sure, and will continue with this series, and I am so happy to see that the next several books are already out, yay, as I hate waiting on books, lol
I did not even read any summary’s or anything on the next books. I wanted to write this review first, then I will buy the next one as soon as I am able
.
I also loved the cover, and I am big on covers, if its poorly done, or doesn’t match what you read (you know, wrong hair color, stuff like that) then I do not usually even pick them up to read. Most books I read, first attract me to them by the cover. Yes, I know is should not judge the book by the cover, but I just can’t help it.
I highly recommend this book to adults due to the mature content.
5 out of 5 stars for me.
Guest Post
I’m a reader at heart, and I love devouring new romance novels, but there are so many to choose from and it can be daunting to sift through all the options. Generally, what I read is also what I like to write. Below are a 8 of my romance must haves.
Cover Art
I know it shouldn’t affect my decision, but it does. If the cover looks bad to me, it makes me wonder if the story is lacking as well. Cover art also influences the way I picture the lead characters. Too many books show blonds on the cover, when the heroine is actually brunet, or vice versa. So as I read, my mind wars with my preconceptions. It’s bothersome.
Interesting Story Line
Some story lines are getting old for me. Cop and detective stories, for one. They do nothing for me these days.
Must Be a Series
Okay, not always, but I search for books that are in a series because I love to get totally dragged into the lives of all the characters. An author can make me eager for the next installment is my drug of choice.
Removed From Reality
Currently, and this could change any day, I have no interest in stories that could be based in reality. Boring dramas or detective stories are the worst for me. I’m not interested in a long story about some rebel cop chasing an insane killer while trying to keep his new lady partner at arm’s length. Blech. Give me some witches.
Alpha Males
I need hot alpha males with attitude, a slight sense of honor, and a wicked dark side. Oh yeah, pack me up some of that to go. ‘nuf said.
Great Female Lead
I also need a smart witty female who can challenge the hero and drive him a little nuts at the same time. Females are probably the most difficult to write for me. Their emotions are much more complex and convoluted than the typical guy. To that, you may say, “But my guy has really deep thoughts…” No he doesn’t. He thinks about food, sex, work, and sleep. Not always in that order. Any deep thoughts he comes up with are derived from the desire to get one of those four things accomplished.
That Brings Me to Sex
Don’t stiff me on the sex! I hate when the sexual tension gets built up to a fever pitch, only to receive one mild sex scene before the end of the book. I find this happens mostly in older books. These days, authors are getting a little bolder when it comes to sexing up their characters. Yet, at the same time, I don’t want sex scenes at the cost of story line.
Lastly, HEA
I haven’t come across too many romance books that don’t have a happy ever after ending. But then, I try to stay away from them. The exception is, of course, when a series ends in a cliffhanger, but sometimes that irritates me too.
So there you have it. My long list of requirements. Ha! Just try to please me, I dare you. LOL. As you can guess, I don’t always find what I’m looking for, but the hunt is fun anyway. Happy reading!
