Book Description:

She’s seventeen. She’s snarky. She’s trouble… It wasn’t nicking an expressive watch or diamond bracelet that landed Jona Montiniere in the clutches of the police. It was just a darn sweater. After a spectacular, failed escapade, she is forced to return to a mother who spurned her. Jona is furious about the judge’s decision—until she meets her mother’s companion. Gorgeous, provocative, and mysterious, Julian is everything her lonely heart desires. But then he awakens her mother from the dead with a simple touch.Hunting for the truth in a strange new home, Jona unearths broken promises and bitter secrets. Soon she realizes she’ll once again lose someone she loves…unless she gives him a reason to stay. But how the hell do you keep an angel earthbound?

Guest Post by Piper Shelly, so here she is:

Hi all, and thanks to Michelle for inviting me to share my thoughts with you today. So right at the beginning, I have one basic question I want you all to answer:

How do you want your hero?

Hm, I prefer him on his back, lying on the floor even better, with me sitting astride on his belly. ;) Duh, if it was just that easy…

But seriously, there’s a thing or two every female reader who loves romance likes to see in the characters she reads about. With me, it’s simple. I like boneheads. Yeah, strange, isn't it? And I didn't even know until I came across some of the sexiest heroes I've ever read about. What makes them stand out for me is their stubbornness when it comes down to their potential mates. And then I can never resist a tiny bit of sarcasm. Most likely, because it’s my second native language. And we all love men who speak our language, no? ;-)

I especially like it when my heroes are some poor, tortured, but mind-numbing gorgeous hunks, who seem to be in a constant fight with themselves whether it’s a good idea to nail the woman or just walk away. They most often tell themselves the latter is better, but do they leave the girl alone? Nah…they act against their better will and pin her to the wall with a deeply seductive kiss. And we wouldn't want it any other way, ladies, would we?

So what’s your trait in a hero that makes him irresistible for you? If you’re game, leave a comment and share your most protected secrets with me? ;-) One lucky commenter will win a PDF of my romance HER GAME, HIS RULES.

Cheers,
Piper

About the Author:
Did you know that this word scares me more than anything? About… Wherever you go, people want you to tell what a cool life you lead just because you’re an author. But really, there’s nothing special to say about me, except maybe that I write a little more than others normally do. I married my teenage-love, we do our best to raise our ten-year-old to a kind and caring young man, and my cat loves to sleep in my bed, forcing me to bend to the strangest positions at night, just so she can sprawl comfortably on the blanket. I like pizza. And occasionally I talk to angels, but seriously, in these times, who doesn’t…? So all in all, I dare say I’m leading a pretty normal life. Of course it will all change the day my book follows the act of Harry Potter, and I’ll become richer than the Queen. I swear I’ll never again clean my windows myself then. Yeah, one day, ha ha…

My Review:

I Love this book! This story was brilliantly executed, with a handsome angel, falling for a troubled almost 18 year old girl.  This story swept me away, and I love Julian. I had dreams about this story when I went to bed. It stayed with me and gave me chills too.

Jona is the heroine of this story, and I found I did like her. She remained true to herself, even while learning to forgive her mother and those hot complex feelings she has for Julian, that just increase. This is a compelling, page-turning, edge of your seat read. I had tears, laughter, sadness and happiness all wrapped up in this amazing YA paranormal romance. We are able to connect with this young abandoned girls trek into adulthood. I really enjoyed this book.

I really liked Julian, he is one hot angel. He really has found a place in my heart. I had to pick up another book to read, for a tour as soon as I was done, but I didn’t want too, lol, felt like a book hangover, just didn’t want to move on from this remarkable story.

Here is a quote I love:

No girlfriend. Heck, this really shouldn't make me so happy. The pounding of my heart annoyed me something awful. Especially when he must’ve caught it with my ribcage pressed so snugly against his chest. And a firm chest it was.Out of a habit when I felt insecure, I resorted to my snappy tone. “See, that might be different if you were a little nicer to girls to begin with.”“It might,” he whispered, igniting little shivers down my neck. And then he brought his face very close to mine. “And yet, here I stand, holding you in my arms after only three days.”

I wont say too much more about the story itself, because to me the best part was discovering this journey with Jona and Julian. I won’t spoil it for you.

I will leave you with this funny tidbit (Jona's aunt is the one speaking)

Julian still held me captive with his gaze. His eyes sparked as though he knew what would come next and just waited patiently for my reaction.“Luckily, Julian offered to show you around and to—” She paused and pursed her lips. “—to entertain you.”Having just sipped from her coffee, my mother spit the entire load in a spray of drops over her plate then coughed as if her life had met an early end.“Good gracious, Charlene!” My aunt clapped a hand to her chest. Then she fetched a napkin and, leaning over the table, wiped up the mess. “Are you feeling all right?”“And I thought you’d only get this in films.” Washed with disgust, I rolled my eyes.
Very well written, I see lots of promise in Piper Shelly’s career.

5 out of 5 stars.

Short Excerpt:
He was so infuriating, and I was absolutely not charmed…okay, maybe just a little…

“Hi,” he said with a compassionate look that made me wish the traitor, Quinn, had taken off those damn handcuffs so I wouldn’t look like a complete idiot.
Lips pressed together, my fingers waggled in a feeble greeting. The mere sight of him sent a quiver of excitement to my stomach.
He nodded his chin at my tied hands. “They seem rather uncomfortable.”
And they bloody well were, but I shrugged it off like it was nothing unusual. “The latest fashion. You heard the judge, I wear them quite often.”
A teasing smile played around his lips that spiked my blood pressure. “Shall we take them off?” he said.
He must be kidding. “Unless you’ve got teeth like a hacksaw, I don’t see how that would work.”
Grin widening, he pulled out a key-ring from his pocket. He squatted, leveled his eyes with mine, and shook the ring in front of my face. The friendly jingle of metal filled the high hallway.
My mouth sagged open. “Where did you get these from?”
“Chief Madison.”
“You stole them from Quinn?” I pulled my hands reflexively out of his reach.
“Of course not.” The blond god gave me a pointed look. “I asked for them.”
“Quinn wouldn’t unshackle me when I asked him to.”
His intense blue eyes locked with mine. “I had to solemnly swear to keep an eye on you. Now hold still.” Cool fingers curled around my wrist to fix my hand while he unlocked the first cuff. Sparks tingled on my skin, my hand trembled slightly.
With a click, the other cuff came off. I flexed my hands and rubbed my burning wrists.
“Better?” He tilted his head and arched one beautiful brow.
My head bobbed, but I found no breath to answer.
“Okay then.” He used my knees to push himself up and stretched to his full height.
He probably expected a thanks following his selflessness. My gaze focused on the ripped hems of his jeans, my lips remained sealed.
When he turned on his heel and marched off to the left, I glanced up. “And now you’re going where?” The words shot out before I could stop myself.
“Bathroom break.” His arched brows dared me to object.
My lower lip threatened to pop from between my teeth as I chewed on it. Don’t speak! “But you’re supposed to keep an eye on me.”
After studying me for a couple of seconds, his expression softened even more. “You’re not going to get me into trouble.”
I let him take another stride away from me. Two. Three. Four. “How can you be so sure?” Shut the hell up, Jona. “After everything you know about me, I’ll probably be gone when you get back.”
A shrug of one shoulder and his beguiling smile struck me silent. “I trust you.”

Sleeping Gods by Kristen R. Campbell is one of the books I am reading (reading a few, lol) Goodreads

Teaser #1
“Lexi, you have a visitor.”Huh? I come down the stairs to see who it is. Whoever it is has moved into the living room so I can’t see them as I descend the stairs.I walk into the living room to find only my mom, who is wearing a goofy smile on her face. “Well? Who’s here?” I ask her just as hands come up from behind me to cover my eyes.I hear a familiar voice, “Guess who?”

Teaser #2
“It’s just funny. How common this is. It seems surreal.”“How so?” I take the glass he offers to me.We sit down on the bench that wraps around the porch. “I’ve never been to a prom or had lemonade on a back porch, especially waiting to take prom pictures. I never grew up; just was,” he whispers the last part, afraid to be overheard.“Does it bother you, because I’m a little embarrassed by it?”He shakes his head. “I like it. I do feel a little embarrassed being the oldest guy here,” he chuckles. “But I’m happy to be experiencing something new.”

Her Game, His Rules is another I am reading, this one for book tour. So far, pretty good. Goodreads

Teaser #1
He was so infuriating, and I was absolutely notcharmed…okay, maybe just a little…Out of the corner of my eye I caught Julian arch a brow. “What’s that supposed to mean?” By his voice I could tell he was smiling.“Well, you weren't the most charming person in the world when we first met. With all the bantering and such, no wonder you don’t have a girlfriend.”“Who says I don’t have a girlfriend?”

Teaser #2
With my hands pressed to my cheeks, I retreated into the room. The earsplitting screams continued to bounce off the walls.Flap. Flap. A rumbling behind me. And then a pair of strong arms pulled me into a protective hold.Julian must have come in through the french doors. He held me like he feared for my life. In his embrace, I turned to bury my face in his shoulder.

Final Redemption (The Chosen book 3) Final book.

Chapter 1
The breeze ruffled her wings, shifting them slightly.  Tears rained down her cheeks as she watched, from the safety of the unseen state, a group of tourists walk around beneath her.  From her vantage point atop of one of the giant stones of Stonehenge, she could see for miles.  The green hills rolled gently in the distance as thick white clouds floated lazily in an azure sky.  The tourists snapped pictures of this and that; some clicked pictures of their friends posing in front of the monument, while others laughed and joked.  The sounds of their laughter only added to Erin’s misery.
Two weeks had passed since Angie became evil, and the guilt still weighed heavily on her shoulders.  She had been unable to keep her friend from losing herself and as a result, the purest evil known to man roamed the Earth.
For some bizarre reason, most of the demonic activity had ceased, only causing Erin’s and her friends’ anxiety to climb.  The peacefulness fueled her suspicions and angst.  Something was about to happen, she just wasn’t sure what.
She dashed away her tears with the back of her hand as she relived the horrible day that had changed everything.

Teaser:
Erin swallowed the sudden lump in her throat, and a knot formed in the pit of her stomach.  The sense of déjà vu was overwhelming, because in the not so distant past she’d walked in on Angelo just after a shower.  She tried to move her feet, but they seemed to be anchored to the floor.  Her hands were weights at her sides, leaving her standing in all her naked glory in front of her former lover.  Well this just sucks, she thought to herself.“I knocked,” he offered up lamely.“I didn’t hear,” she said awkwardly. He reached for the towel and handed it to her, being sure to keep his eyes adverted.“Thanks,” she muttered, securing the towel around her.  She could feel flames creeping up into her cheeks.  Nervously, she tucked her hair behind her ear and chewed on her bottom lip.“Well, seems like we’ve been here before,” Angelo said, trying to make the situation feel a little less uncomfortable.“Yeah, seems vaguely familiar,” she laughed, “but I don’t really remember it being this awkward.”“Oh, it was,” he confirmed.

Hope you enjoyed the first part of Chapter one. This is the 3rd book in the series, and really needs the previous ones to be read first, listed below.
