Having just escaped the nefarious plans of the Order, Rayla Tate thinks all she has to do now is rescue her family and sort through her feelings, but bonding with five men might just be her undoing. Not only does she have to deal with all of them reading her mind, Rayla must choose a bondmate before she will be allowed to venture into the mortal realm to save those she loves most.
She has three weeks to get to know each lord, but her journey turns into far more than a simple choice of the heart. Rayla comes face to face with the underhanded dealings of the fae political system where good is a matter of taste and evil lurks under beautiful shells. Long held judgments crumble when she discovers the heart beneath the men she has come to count on. Rayla must overcome long held fears, discover the truth behind the creatures of the dark realms, and conquer her greatest weakness before she can take her place as the new queen of the fae.
However, her world crumbles when she discovers following her heart’s desire might just mean the destruction of the world. Will Rayla have the courage to choose the man who has risked everything to win her, or will she succumb to the manipulations of the fae council and those who would use her power for evil?
One choice: five men. The stakes have never been higher, but which one will prevail?

My Genesis Review

I loved this book, each book in this series just gets better and better, and now I really need to get book 4. I was left wanting more. I hope to be able to get it soon.
I really fell in love with Heath in this book. He is the ultimate hot guy that has it all. In my opinion. I won’t say why I like him so much, beyond his hotteness, but that is not all there is to this complicated man.

I feel so bad for Rayla and what she has to go through in this book. I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster along with Rayla. How is she supposed to choose, when she spends time with each Fae lord, and gets to know them, that they all have some qualities that touch her. I myself still am all for Heath. I did love Zach, and part of me still does.
But Heath to me, is the one who truly loves Rayla, and is the only one who seems to not really care about the power she will bring.

I don’t want to say too much more. I will share a few good teasers for you:
Quadruple crap. Why couldn’t I control myself? Why did he have this effect on me? “Are you compelling me right now?”To my surprise, his smile held an edge of sadness. “That would give you a much needed excuse, but I am afraid I am not.”Curse my body for reacting to his. As long as I kept him out of my heart, I would be okay.I think it a bit too late for that, my dear.”You’re using old man speak again.” I made a face. “It’s creepy.”He chuckled. “I’ll try to remember that, but I haven’t been around humans much in the past hundred years. It’s hard to keep up with the changes in common dialect.”Let’s keep on topic, Jett. You were going to teach me how to control my mind.”

And this one

Once freed from the barrier our souls connected briefly before he pulled away. In that insanely short time, I knew him. It would take me an eternity to sort through all this information, but I couldn’t wait that long.I flung myself at him and peppered his face with kisses. He laughed and pulled me tighter, pushing me up against the closed door. He braced my back and lifted. I wrapped my legs around his waist, preparing for the best kiss of my life.Ahem.”I clamped my eyes shut and groaned. How had I forgotten Grace was in the room? I lowered myself to the floor and Heath gave me a look that told me we would finish this later.Oh yeah we would.
Yeah, this book has some major great swoon scenes in it, and some great suspense, twist and turns you won’t see coming too. This entire series is very well written, and really hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the world that Christie created.

You need to try this series. It truly is amazing, its great along the lines how I think the Iron Fey series is great, which is a compliment to this one. Nothing is alike or anything, just the greatness of it, and the only thing similar is that its got the fae in them.

Give it a try, read my reviews of the first 2 as well. I hope to get book 4 Horizon soon, so I can read and review it. As soon as I can.

5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended!!

I was provided a copy of this book from the author for my honest review, thanks Christie, I appreciate it, and enjoyed it more than I can say.

(note, I finished this book weeks ago, and did  not realize that my review didn’t post, my computer crashed after I thought I posted, but it didn’t and my word doc didn’t recover all my review either, so had to start over, mostly, lol)

Ainessa, princess of the house of void, paced the confining space of the tiny room. Anger consumed her, lighting her veins with a fire more intense than any she had endured.
Rayla had gotten away. Not only that, the retched girl had been able to defy her compulsion. None had managed such a feat—even Heath had fallen under her spell for a time. How had a mere Elemental, even the supposed Nexus, managed to use her will?
She released a sigh. No matter. The girl’s power would be hers soon enough. All was in place, and, now, the only thing remaining to do was wait.
The soft sound of the door creaking open invaded her thoughts, but she did not turn around. She had almost used up her patience where Nigel Lambert was concerned. The insufferable man wouldn’t let her out of his sight for more than a few minutes at a time. She’d searched for a place that would shield her from his prattling; unfortunately, she hadn’t searched hard enough. The man wouldn’t shut up, no matter how many times she told him to.
“Nessa?” he said, using the pet name she abhorred. “Are you all right, my dear? You seem pensive.”
She turned slowly, reminding herself she wouldn’t have to deal with Lambert for much longer. Putting that aside, she gave him what she hoped was a genuine smile. “You are so perceptive, Nigel. Nothing I do escapes your attention.”
He settled an arm around her shoulders as if she were a fragile mortal that needed his reassurance. If he only knew who he was dealing with, he would not take such liberties with her. He was a coward to the core, but his connections were necessary at the moment.
As always, he returned her smile. “I have good news. Keller broke this morning. We now have the locations of three rebel strongholds.”
Ainessa raised a delicate brow. “Have you seen the strongholds yourself, or have you merely fallen for another delay tactic?”
“I—” he stumbled momentarily, making her wonder what he was hiding. “I haven’t had time to personally investigate, but I have dispatched teams to the areas.”
Of course he hadn’t checked. He thought himself above such trivialities. She gave a sweet twist to her smile. “Where are they?”
“Mexico, Canada, and India.”
She frowned. All ideal locations, considering where Grace Keller had kept herself for so long.
She would send a team of her own. The rebels could be more useful to her than the Order. She had to get them on her side. Once accomplished, this world would officially be hers.
“Very well, Nigel. Alert me when you have a report.” She brushed his shoulder with delicate fingers. “What would I do without you?”

Rayla Tate’s life is about to turn vertical…again. As if it wasn’t bad enough her mother disappeared under questionable circumstances leaving Rayla to be raised by her aunt in a horrendously small town. Her overprotective guardian is determined to ruin Rayla’s life. She refuses to let Rayla out of her sight or out of the state. Provincial living might be what her aunt demands of her purposely sheltered niece; but, Rayla has other ideas. In a desperate attempt to follow her dreams she flees the safety of her home and runs away to college with her best friend toward a bright future in the art world.
However, excitement over her newfound freedom turns into terror when she is chased by a mysterious stranger on her way to school. When his motorcycle suddenly morphs into a fire-breathing pegasus, Rayla questions her sanity. Worse, the man riding next to her stirs a burning desire in her soul she has never known or could have ever imagined. Using all the will she owns, she manages to resist the compulsion she feels; yet, as he disappears into the night, she is certain he hasn't gone far.
Rayla quickly dismisses the encounter to her overactive imagination. She is determined to settle into her new life, yet the images and feelings of that night still haunt her. To make matters worse, her aunt seems to be in on the act, insisting that Rayla will soon be hunted by a pack of fae lords for a power over the elements she never knew she possessed—a power that could change the world. Quicker than she ever thought possible, she finds herself surrounded by stunning men that all seem determined to win her heart. Why does she feel drawn to each one of them? More importantly, what dark power do they hold over her? Rayla must quickly learn to fend off these beautiful and seductive pursuers using whatever means necessary or find herself lost to the fae world forever.

Dark Matter (Elemental Enmity #2)

Rayla Tate’s dreams for the future shattered when she discovered she was an Elemental capable of manipulating matter. Thrust, once again, into the magical fae realm of Faeresia, she has an important choice to make. But now that she has Heath to contend with, deciding between Zach and Luke is the least of her concerns. Tall, dark and lethal to her will, her attraction to Heath eclipses all she has experienced with any other lord, but he is using compulsion to wear her down. If only she could trust her feelings?
In a desperate attempt to escape Heath, she accepts the help of a little troll and finally gets what she wants; however, her relief is short lived. Things go terribly wrong when a dark force closes in on her, threatening to steal her burgeoning power before she even has a chance to test her abilities. Now, with Rayla as their captive, the Order will stop at nothing to create a male Elemental, and willing or not, Rayla is the key.
Caught up in the age-old battle for dominance between human and fae, only one question matters to her now—will she be able to save those she loves most without losing herself in the process? Or will she be forever haunted by the choices she alone can make?

Evil has many faces—unfortunately, Rayla Tate has seen them all, or so she thinks. Since she learned she was an Elemental, she has been hunted for her power. But Rayla hasn’t met her greatest foe; she hasn’t seen true evil…yet.
Rayla betrayed her bondmate to be with the man she loves. Now that she has Heath at her side, she is ready to face the fae council and move on with her life. Too bad Zach has other ideas. He’s not about to give Rayla up just because his sister got in the way. He will find Rayla and prove to her that he is the man she is meant to be with, even if he has to face the monsters of the dark realms to do it.
Despite her growing feelings for Heath, with every passing day her body gives in to her bond with Zach. Rayla must leave the dark realms or risk losing control of her mind and ultimately her power. Once back in Lombarda, she discovers a secret about her origins that could shake the foundations of the world, both fae and human. There is more at stake than who she is bound to. The Order and the fae both want control of the same thing, and this time it is not her.
Rayla must unite with unlikely allies to destroy the evil plaguing Faeresia. For if she refuses, she will succumb to a compulsion she never could have anticipated and plunge the world and those she loves into darkness or utter oblivion.
