Before Serenity and Cyrus can embark on a romantic honeymoon, one of their giftsfrom an immortal comes to life and unleashes a devastating series of events that forces them to make an unthinkable sacrifice. To undo the evil of dark magic, Serenity must travel to the immortals’ hold in Iceland. Alone.

Cyrus comes close to unraveling without his mate, but refuses to let honor or duty keep themapart, even if it means the bloodshed of his own kinsmen.
As the Great Council prepares to convene to determine their fate, friends become enemies, enemies become allies, and soul mates are pushed right to the edge—where love and faith is theironly hope of survival.
Warning: Contains soul mates put through the grinder, dark magic drama that will leave you reeling, angry sex that crumbles concrete, an alpha hero pushed over the edge, and a roller coaster full of twists.

Isis Rushdan was born in New York City.  Fresh out of high school at sixteen and to the horror of her family, she turned down a college scholarship and joined the U.S. Army.  She likes to keep her family on their toes, but they have always been supportive and even signed the parental consent form.  She had to wait almost a year due to a minor age hiccup, but her calling to serve did not diminish.  After her tour, she went on to graduate with a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio State University and parlayed her degree into an active duty commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.  In 2005, she joined the reserves, where she is still a member of the Armed Forces.

Ragged breaths scraped past Serenity’s lips. Warm blood dripped from her fingers. Cyrus’s words resonated somewhere in the distance, a whisper in the whir of her head.
“Help me. Please.” Blistering pain flared as she continued to dig at her chest. If she could hold on to the insidious chain for just a second, she could rip it off.
Cyrus seized her by the arms, the grip so tight she gasped, and shook her hard, forcing the breath from her lungs. “I don’t know how to get it off!”
It was the first time he’d raised his voice outside of training. The deep sound was a lash to her mind and she stilled.
“I swear we’ll find a way.” The fiery promise blazed in his anguished eyes.
Her gaze fell to her bloody hands. Tears blurred her vision. Raw skin stung.
He pressed a hot palm to her cheek. “Try not to think about it.”
How could she think of anything else?

I am such a huge fan of this series. I fell in love with it with book one, Kindred of the Fallen, this one is much more exciting as all the ground work is done, and we start where the first stopped.

Serenity and Cyrus face even more difficulties in this one, and the excitement and and action do not really stop. It keeps you engaged and wanting more.

I know many may not have read book one, so will keep this spoiler free for both books.

If you had not read either book yet, you should start with the first, Kindred of the Fallen, then get this one, as you would love to read them back to back.

I give 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it.

Oh, and the cover is Gorgeous, it’s really an eye catcher for sure.

I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review.
